Buddhists do not believe in any kind of deity or god, although there are supernatural figures who can help or hinder people on the path towards enlightenment. Most refer to Siddhartha Gautama was an Indian prince in the fifth century B.C.E. ... as the Buddha Siddhartha Gautama Buddha taught the Four Noble Truths.
They are the truth of suffering, the truth of the cause of suffering, the truth of the end of suffering, and the truth of the path that leads to the end of suffering.

The Buddha lineage begins with a Buddha called Ta?ha?kara. Ta?ha?kara Buddha was born as a son of King Sunandha and Queen Sunandha in the city of Puppavadi. He attained Enlightenment under a Rukkaththana tree. Ta?ha?kara Buddha, Medha?kara Buddha, Sara?kara Buddha and Dipankara Buddha were born in the same aeon (kalpa).

@Starrayfil and others: 1.Buddhism originated approxm. 560 BEFORE Christ!! 2.The Buddhistic dharma, the eightfold path to enlightenment is strikingly similar to Christ's Sermon on the Mount, more similarities can be found f.i.Christianity versus the Jewish religion, later seen with the Islam. All this indicating that religions have been influenced by others religions and philosophies. Similarly, Buddhism has been influenced by Taoism which is a philosophy based on nature. Buddhism is a way of life, a philosophy, Christianity is a religion!! A big difference.
3. During the time of Christ there were also other religions that preached the same values as Jezus. They did not stay long as they focussed on the wrong groups of the population. Jesus Christ came up for the poor, disabled and outcasted people. This made his message to become the greatest religion on earth today.
4. Why can only the humans, a very violent and homicidal species only deserve God's heaven and other creatures are just seen as minor and tools.
Buddhism just invites, religions try to convert.
