"So meditation, I found very hard, took number of years before i was able to actually park mind. My mind was like a raging bull in a china shop.
There meditation classes support even in christian churches, most hospitals make meditation available as pretty much all forms of Ism...
Myself spent over two years trying using this method:
Sit comfortably, use one finger gently block right nostril and just naturally breathe in through left nostril and then breath out through the right x 11
Breathe in through right nostril and out through the left x 11
Breathe in through both nostrils and out through the both x 11
x 3
Whenever you find yourself following or grasping onto a thought, start the count again from beginning.
Boss your mind (ego) command mind, and level contentment will change... comfort"

Thanks so much robplum, I really appreciate your taking time to explain. I will definitely try your suggestion. I've always had a problem 'calming' my thoughts at night...years of living in the future/past perhaps? hmmm uncertain

CossackCat: Forget the botox. Get a mouthpiece that American football players use. (Sporting goods). You heat it in hot water, and bite it to the shape of your mouth. And sleep with it. Much cheaper, safer, no side effects, and you have control over it.

Good luck, have a nice day
Thanks much CCthumbs up

Didi7: Such good advice...Thanks much blathin. I do use a guard, but I do have an idea of what may be causing my current stress, so I guess I should just work on those aspects for now:)
No worries didi, you're welcome. I hope you manage to get it sorted and find relief handshake

Oh | meant to add, I don't know if you can get them where you live, but here in the chemists/health food shops there are these things called "Kalms (or Calms, cant remember which) Anyway, they're valerian based herbal tablets that are supposed to calm you. I never take any sort of medication, not even paracetemol unless I'm in serious need, but I did try the Kalms once many years ago before a very important thing I had to do and they did help. I also saw some recently that are especially for sleep...I can't remember how much they cost, maybe about a tenner, maybe even less, but they shouldn't do you any harm and might help you calm your mind so might be worth a try for a few nights...

For more information look into valerian as that's what they're made from...

Also, there are things like chamomile tea and other herbal teas that might help relax you as well..

Get your dentist to make a mouth guard. Then work on what's causing the tension, which has manifested when you sleep

Didi7: Is anyone familiar with the use of Botox treatments for jaw-clenching/teeth-grinding issues? I'd like some advice please, preferably from persons who may have had the treatment themselves or know of persons who did.

Whilst I know 'some' things about it, the insights drawn from actual experience is very valuable to me. Thanks much.
After reading this thread, they are wrong. No cup of tea or magical potion will work. You are a nutcase. Deal with it

I adamantly ask that you look into other methods. There are SO many reasons. Allow me to give a couple of examples: Prednisone is used for inflammatory issues, and it “works”, but the side effects are very, very negative…(I can’t take it; when it was prescribed to me it nearly killed me and the physicians had to find another drug..) Warfarin (Coumadin) has such drastic side effects many physicians don’t like it that it even exists— these two medications I’ve mentioned need such close supervision because 1. Prednisone has to be started slowly (titrated) and then terminated slowly, or the patient will have functional AND life-threatening complications. I am NOT giving you any medical advice, just my own experiences. 2. Warfarin levels are difficult to sagely establish, and alter without notice frequently, so getting a therapeutic dose can be difficult. Botox is POISON (botulism). That should be enough INFORMATION. Please be careful.
