I was stood up twice last year (by ladies I 'met' on another site, not this one, thus far), and ended up getting no response when I asked (emailed) as to why they were no shows. I dont; get out for coffee real often from meeting peolpl online, so those two out of 3 total are not a good batting average.

I was very polite, and simply asked if they were ok, got held up, forgot or? Nothing nasty, I made sure it was very neutral.

First one: I didn't even know what she looked like, but after waiting an hour, and not being approached by anyone, I left.

Second one: I knew what she looked like, and considering I was one of 3 people (all male) in the coffee shop, I would have been hard to miss, and she certainly didn't show. There an hour, also. Seemed to have made a 'connection' with her online, chatting quite a bit, and on the phone. But, again, no response when I emailed to ask I everything was ok.

I know both were still active on the site, they read the emails, and still nothing. It really ticked off some female friends of mine....If they had had it their way they would have gone & smacked the two guilty gals around a bit. (I've got some protective friends...who don't like to see nice guys get jerked around)

Any ideas?

There really was no good excuse to why they didnt show up. l have actually had that happen to me a few times (but by guys) and l know how it feels to be left there sitting and wondering. Emails alse followed and no answers back.
You dont seemt o be doing anything wrong as far as l can see, you chat on the site, then phone calls follow, there is nothing else you could have done, dont worry about it, the right lady will come along and you will meet and everything will work out great.

well that sucks man. hmmm, i dont think your doing anything wrong. Its totally inconsiderate for them not to let you know they cant make it or to respond to your emails.

The only thing i do before meeting is I chat with people for awhile first before meeting. Usually at least a couple weeks.

no you cant send out your female friends to seek revenge, that would make you as bad a person as they are...just move on and met that special lady, cause theres one out there for everyone.
Have fun and enjoy.

There may be a good reason to stand someone up, BUT there is NO good reason for not calling, writing, apologizing, etc after the mishap!! frustrated

I am sorry for that happening to you...hug

However...the on the upside....be glad you did not get further involved with women that has such poor social skills and are certainly lacking in good breeding.....count yourself lucky!!handshake

Even if i have known from the first meeting that "nothing" will come of it...I still stay and enjoy the time spent with someone new...

I agree with Wikked that you are better off without people like this in your life...it's just rude, inconsiderate, thoughtless, and you're right in thinking that they're likely both....what was that word??? lol rolling on the floor laughing

No there isnt..but people do it for many reason

1. They lied about who the are and what they look like.
2. they are married and wanted to cheat but then back out at the end.
3. someone with a fake profile.. getting their kicks off of sending random people out to meet someone who doesnt exist

and many other reasons.. but.. people are some timesjust d*ck.

Well that is just plain rude and no, I don't think there is an excuse for stading someone up. If you can't make it for some unforseen reason then you call.

Honesly I don't understand why someone would go to the trouble of setting a date only to not show up and to not be in contact. That is hurtful....and as others have said ... those are people you don't need in your life.

I am sorry to hear that happened to you. I must be a protective cyber-stranger ... cause I don't want to see you jerked around either.

the only reason I can see someone's reasoning for standing a person up?

hmmmmmmmmmmm, IGNORANT? selfish? plain out rude?...yep, that pretty much sums it up.....

maybe they thought they were "better" than you....or maybe they were already involved with someone.....either way you toss it, they did YOU a favor......their true colors showed before you even had a chance to have a coffee with them....chalk it up as an unfair incident for you but on the flipside? a blessing....

good luck to you and STOP attracting dead beats like that...you deserve better!dancing
