RE: Therapy....

professor 7 out of 10 Canadian suffer some form of mental illness in their lifetimes....

And in my opinon the remaining three are compulsive liars! scold

I think everyone who is human is messed up in some way...and if they say they aren't, they are in DENIAL!

Strangely enough, I DO believe what I have said above!

I think that everyone could use some sort of personal improvement. We all have a loooooooonnngg way to go to become perfect.

RE: Living with a SLOB..neigh or yeah?

Depends what you term as a slob.....I have seen some pretty scary places (health hazzards) and some messy places taht are just disorganized. My place gets disorganized after working many 14 hour days, but I don't leave food rotting on the counter for weeks on end.

Also realize that the disorganization and what some people view as being a 'slob' can be symptoms of some mental illnesses (depression, schizophrenia, obsessive/compulsive disorder, etc.).

But, if someone is an uncaring slob not aflicted with anotehr issue, then that is a different story.

Just remember to consider the individual situation. Ther are lots of neat freaks whose places become disorganized due to other factors beyond their control...and how many mothers are able to keep their homes as neat as pins when they have 2, 3 or 4 small children to care for? Can't call them slobs...just very, very, very busy.

Always another way to look at things....

RE: Extinction....is forever...

Boy you must have had a long life...

Dodo birds have been gone for a long time...about 350 years....And, well dinosaurs.... professor

HOW old did you say you were?

Wow....women must live a LONG time in your family. And you've held your young good looks amazingly well!

:) Just joshin' with ya.

RE: Would you tell a friend you have feelings for them?

I've told them, when they were single. Two of them, actually.
Still friends with both of them...never went out with either one. C'est la vie. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Who knows, that friend may be become your best friend & life partner. Why pass up teh chance?

If they were not single, I'd keep it under wraps until such a time (if ever) they became single.

RE: Extinction....is forever...

If you are talking about animals/living things.... here is a list of a few warm blooded animals that have become extinct within the last couple years:(depending on how old you are, of course):
Black Rhinos (recently thought to be completely extinct due to poaching as recent as July of '06.)
China's River Dolphin (the baiji) might be extinct
Canis rufus floridanus (a subspecies of red wolf that inhabited the areas of Maine and Ohio to Florida and Alabama) is extinct

and the list goes on.

There are also many animals now extinct in the wild, and the only remaning examples are in captivity.

Humankind has screwed up the earth more than we realize. If we keep it up, WE will become extinct.

RE: What Would Make You Jealous???

Though then I'd be jealous of the DOLL, I suppose...As long as he is getting more than me... laugh

RE: Are You Who You Think You Are???

I am ME. I also learn more about myself everyday. If you don't try to learn about yourself everyday you can't grow.

RE: Children play a major role, Question for the men..

I generally have my 'cut off set at 24.....and they have to be a very mature 24.

I find that past experiences and some likes/dislikes are connected with age (no, not all likes/dislikes, but some), jsut due to the time period you grew up in. People growing up in the 60s have a higher tolerance for 'soft' drug use (overall, not the whole generation), than those who grew up with the 80s/early 90s with the agressive anti-drug campaigns. Same goes for different generations' opinions on how much booze consumption is ok before you don't drive.

These are just generalizations, of course. Myself, for example, have a hard time 'connecting' with someone whose musical & life interests lie in mainly a modern hip-hop music scene, which was mostly 'before my time.'

Though, some people are 'old souls', and can connect with someone else of a vastly different age as a result.
But, the 'growing up" part of childhood/teenagehood still remains in place, and affects who we are.

I've always been mistaken for older than I am...though it wasn't due to looks, was just the way I carried myself & acted....I look older than my age now, but when I was 21 I was mistaken for 30+ regularly, but I did look about 19. Then again, I had a business, so that affected my personallity. When I was a teen, I had disdane for the majority of people my age around me, due to the immaturity I saw, and was so annoyed by. I acted 'my age', or so I thought. Maybe I was carrying myself beyond my years.

Keep looking, there will be someone you connect with. Maybe make it clear in your profile that you are more mature than others your age. I don't mean necessarilly saying that outright (though that makes it too the point), but in the way you present yourself. I havne;t read your profile, so perhaps you already have done that.

RE: How many other dating sites are you on ?

3 others...but only 1 other 'actively".....keep meaning to go cancel my accounts on the others.....some of them make it such a hassel to cancel account. Cancelled a couple old ones today, finally. Our Military (small, under & ill equipped, but mighty!) Gotta be proud of what they have accomplished with so little.

RE: Ladies do you ever receive .....

confused Hmmmm....well, I have asked a few ladies out for a coffee....throwign out a phone number & address are out of line (and risky)
Haven't you been approached at work, play, a bookstore, etc and asked if you wanted to go out of a coffee by guys? And how is that different? (Be nice if women would approach guys the same way...hmmmm?)

Just totally innocent....maybe it is 'small town' attitude...trusting.

I have gotten 'sure!" responses, too. Met a few women that way, and saved each other lots of yakking time online when we found no attraction.

Keep it in a public place, and all is well, me thinks. Some of us here would rather meet in person than ya for ever online befroe meeting, and are decent folks.....we all aren't axe murderers......

Maybe it is not the fact they asked you out for a coffee....it is the TYPE of guy who is asking you that is the problem... just a thought.

RE: Promote your Province here

WINNIPEG

Wonderful, rich & colorful history, wonderful old buildings & homes, internationally recognized historical area The Exchange District, beautiful summers, affordable housing ($300,000 gets you a very nice home in a very nice area), within driving distance to beautiful lakes & cottage country, Assiniboine Park Zoo, a multitude of art talent, a music scene that has no equal and has spawned and is still spawning internationally known talent, multicultural & other events like Folklarama, Festival Du Voyageur, Blackorama Reggae Festival, Taste Of Manitoba, The Fringe Festival (attracts talent from around the world) (and many, many, many others), the Forks (not a personal favourite, but other people like it), rush hours that really only last about an hour, and much, much, much more.

We also have a population that seems to see the negatives more than the positives....visitors marvel at what we have, Winnipeggers don't see it & take it all for granted. We really ahve far more going for us that some residents think.

RE: Hate your ex? Why? Why not?

They don't all suck....My ex's have always said I am a rare commodity, but I don't entirely believe that. I think people get screwed aroudn by idiots & they let it affect their views of everyone else after that. Got to judge each person individually through the SAME lens, not a modified one temepered by past experiences.
