Bangladesh: The Christian faith is exploding, 2017 report
Sandwiched between India and Myanmar, Bangladesh is the third largest Muslim-majority country in the world. Despite persecution, the Christian faith is growing fast in this nation. Bangladesh is 89% Muslim and nearly 10% Hindu, according to the Joshua Project, with Christians numbering less than one percent. Often beset by floods, cyclones, and tornadoes roaring through the Bengal Delta, it also has the sad distinction of ranking number one in the world for children suffering from malnutrition.
One ministry leader, who recently completed a fact-finding trip to the country, believes Christians are being undercounted. “Christianity is much larger and growing, especially in the rural areas,” says Jim Jacobson, president of Christian Freedom International (CFI). On his trip, Jacobson interviewed scores of indigenous Christian pastors, street evangelists, missionaries, and converts to Christianity. “According to them, Christianity is on the increase, mostly underground, and the growth is a cause of concern for the Muslim majority, leading to persecution.”
20,000 Muslims have converted among the hill tribes
One 60-year-old pastor, a former Muslim, reported to Jacobson that 20,000 Muslims have converted to Christianity among the hill tribes of northeast Bangladesh in the last 12 months. This pastor faces many hardships, has been beaten numerous times, and must pay bribes to the police to continue his ministry.
Another pastor and a Muslim convert to Christianity told him that in his district more than 6,000 have converted to Christ since 1991. This pastor has been targeted for assassination by a radical Islamic group. He told CFI, “Of course I am afraid, but when I think about my spiritual life I am not afraid. We continue to preach, no matter what.”
Jacobson believes the under-reporting of believers is because most tallies only count ‘traditional Christians’, people born into the Christian faith who attend government-approved churches. “But ‘converts’, those who change their religion from Islam to Christianity are not counted and no surveys have been made,” he contends. “The number of Christians in Bangladesh may be as high as 10 percent of the population.”

The irony of communism is that it comes with more opium of the masses than any other system until eventually you're back in the medieval era. Nothing in that article suggests than millions of Muslims converted to Christianity. The only way you ever had mass religious conversions was at the point of a sword. And the sincerity of many of those was unlikely.

Sorry to be a killjoy but Google "world's fast growing religion" and it will be Islam!. The truth is that those who convert to Christianity from Islam are mostly poor people who are bought by missionaries by offering them food and other worldly requirements. Those Christians who convert to Islam are normally well to do people living good lives whose decision is based on Intellect and wisdom. Former fighter the great Muhammad Ali, Singer Jermaine Jackson, Singer Sinead O Connor, former singer Cat Stevens, Ex fighter Mike Tyson, journalist Yvonne Ridley, former MTV presenter Kristiane Backer and broadcaster and journalist Lauern Booth are a few well known faces who converted from Christianity to Islam!. Some even say that Michael Jackson converted to Islam as well. Name me one famous Muslim who converted from Islam to Christianity?. Moreover, most people in the west are not Christian's but Atheists who are counted as Christian's!. In reality hardly anyone attends Church in the west so they are being converted to Mosques!. Even Christmas has lost it'ts religious meaning not that it ever really had one!. It is just a few weeks of holidays and getting drunk!!! 
By the way I am not a practicing Muslim but you need to know the other side of the story too. Bangladesh and Africa etc are third world countries where people can be easily converted by offering them food, money, clothes and even women!

Hello bcjenny, Salam. Hope all is well at your end. I completely understand your passion and emotion about your christian faith, and i see absolutely nothing wrong with that. I don't have any shred of doubt in my mind that christianity is a great religion and so are its followers. In fact, i send prayers for many, many of my orthodox christian brothers and sisters, with true christian faith, all over the world who have done a world of goods for all kinds of people all over the world. But, having said that, however, if i may suggest, please don't believe everything what some newspapers or news portal tell. Being a "Bangladeshi" myself, i can tell you that there is no mass conversion to christianity in my country, nor anywhere else in this world. True, some people in my country are converting to christianity, but they are doing so because almost all of them are marginally poor. In other words, they are becoming "christians" not because they actually like or understand this great faith, but because they are being offered many worldly benefits in exchange. But whatever is the case, i am glad that christian missionaries are helping these very marginally poor people. Salam, bcgenny!

Aaaaaaa........dude, i am a bit confused here. So, please help me out, will ya? In one sentence, at the very bottom of your first paragraph, underlined, you said that people from the "so-called" third world countries, like Bangladesh and Africa, convert to christianity because they are offered food, money, clothes and women. And then in the very next sentence, you are also basically saying the same thing.
In other words, you are also saying that you "can" convert to christianity if you are offered "hot ladies", money, great job, yada,yada and yada.

Christianity is more or less dead in the west!? Really?! Don't you think that such statement is a "gross generalization" with basically no concrete evidence or facts to back it up?! Have you traveled or visited the south or deep-south of the USA, or the mid-western part of the USA? Have you ever lived in Italy?
Anyway, the notion about believing in christianity or adhering to its principles is not as "straight forward" as some media try to portray it out to be, and they do so with a clearly "ill-motive".
