Tiger_Moth: Coming from you I find that hilarious. You post a thread condemning our N.H.S who put their own lives on the line as Bod has stated even saving the life of your bestie Boris Johnson and yet have the brass necked cheek to complain about them for wanting a well deserved pay rise.
Your silly responses have lost their efficacy, go back to flying your kiterolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

You are a waste of space and as thick as two short planks. You make a thread re our N.H.S condemning them yet don't like the flak you are getting back from other posters.

Well just deal with it sunshine your comments are appalling. I'm disgusted that a man of your age ,and no I don't mean 62 , could be so insensitive towards our care service which is struggling under huge pressure at the moment.

Shame on you

I don't know the ins and outs of the negotiations but I would at least try to match not inflation but pay rises in the private sector. Nobody alive is without sin here and we do have to suffer for the decisions the country made. But none too much.

And you think of the NHS and they're not lazy but they are quite primitive. And one of the ways not to be primitive is to know your manpower isn't cheap. Wage pressure will force the uptake of technology and managers who, well, manage.

Well if you don't agree with what I say, stop harassing me, I have my opinion and your constant chasing after me like a lap dog won't change them.
There are people on CS with much more extreme opinions, just because you can't follow the logic does not make them wrong, just different, too many people on here feel they are the only ones to have a valid opinion.

Harrassing you .For goodness sake get over yourself. Get it through your head this is a Forum and I as a member can post wherever I choose and I don't need your permission.

Your constant digging at me says far more about you to be honest and I don't see you have a go at others that disagree with your comments.

Now please explain yourself with regards your thread as we are all waiting with baited breath as to why you would label workers in the N.H.S Greedy and lazy.doh

Hi Chesney.

This is an insight into the state of the N.H.S

Key Facts

The NHS has experienced a decade of under funding since 2010, despite cash boosts in 2018 and 2019. Between 2009-2019 the NHS budgets rose on average just 1.4% per year, compared to 3.7% average rises since the NHS was established.
The whole NHS budget has not been protected and the result is cuts to frontline services, especially in public health.
Nearly half of staff say under funding stops them doing their job properly - many say its the worst situation they have seen.
There is a crisis in the recruitment of staff across the NHS - including too few doctors, midwives, paramedics and nurses.
Per head the government spends less on the NHS than many other comparable countries.
We have less beds and doctors per head than many comparable countries.
Large cuts to social care and mental health have added huge pressure on the NHS as there are not enough services outside of hospital.

Yet the poster has the cheek to defend our M.P.s and say they are entitled to pay increases.doh

And I think it's fair to give them the average pay rise of all private sector workers. The state of the private sector in the west can hardly pull rank over the public sector. I know we have our engineers who can command 15% pay rises but there's also a lot of tattoo parlours, pet grooming entrepreneurs and so on. It's hardly like the private sector is a stronghold of common sense and material resourcefulness, not anymore it's not, the money that flows through it is as unreal as anywhere else. We can hardly maintain that that is the honest living.

Public begin to turn on angels 'holding country to ransom'

PUBLIC opinion appears to be turning on the nurses as they received a roasting on the national airwaves yesterday.

Members of the public spoke of their anger that the country's 40,000 nurses are demanding a 35-hour week - a reduction of four hours - as well as a 10pc pay rise.

Private workers contacted RTE radio and accused nurses of holding the country to ransom.

Callers pointed out that they do not have many of the perks of the public sector, including job security and a large pension. They also ridiculed complaints from nurses that many of them are now being forced to pay for parking at the hospitals. "We all have to make our own way to work and pay for the parking," said one caller. "Why should nurses be any different?"

They also referred to the benchmarking agreement, which the nurses rejected.

However, nurses called Liveline to defend their position, saying they are working extremely long hours for an average pay of around ?36,000 a year. They also claimed they do not receive any additional payment once they receive a degree qualification.

One nurse said that although Ireland may have the highest ratio of nurses per capita in Europe, they are forced to do other jobs in addition.

"We're nurses and cleaners and care assistants," she said. She referred to a colleague who has had to clean out the sluice room in her workplace when she should be caring for sick patients.

Others pointed out that they will never be able to earn the sums on offer in the private sector and many of them are struggling to buy a home for themselves, particularly in the capital.

The range of pay is Assistant in Nursing at 30K to Chief Nursing Officer at 90K with 13 other nursing positions inbetween.

An average of 36K implies a most nurses earn at the bottom end of the scale which after tax and NI is less than 24K a year, or less than 2K a month before paying into their pension and travel, or any childcare required.

It's difficult to meet shift requirements using public transport and not always safe, so most nurses will likely need to run a car. Introducing charges for car parking (where profits will feed back into the Health Trust which pays them) is essentially a pay reduction by stealth.

We put our lives in their hands and we're barely out of a pandemic where they put their lives at risk, some of them dying, some of them living separately from their own children in fear for their lives. Many of them will be dealing with PTSD.

Yeah, I can't imagine why they're pissy about the car parking fees.
