I had a fling with someone when I was much younger and I said it before I knew if I meant it and turned out, I didn't. She spent over a year afterwards beating me over the head with that. Her constant calling and harassment was to the point that I was considering getting the police involved. I never but I was considering it. Be ever so careful saying I love you to someone for the first time and be sure you mean it if you do say it.

I made a mistake, I said something I shouldn't have. That not only affected me but look what it done to her to make her do that to me for over a year afterwards. Yes a normal person would not do that but none the less, it had that effect on her and devastated her when I retracted. You are not only responsible for your own feelings, you are responsible for the other's feelings too and you have to consider that very carefully when you say something like that. I learned a lot of lessons the hard way during that episode and have learned to be much more sure of what I was saying before I said it.------ This thread is Archived ------

I wish I had said those words to my father while he was still alive. I jumped for joy every time I saw him so I can only hope that he knew how I felt about him by my actions if not by my words. My parents were divorced and I lived with momma so it was like a vacation whenever I stayed with daddy, which wasn't very often.
