Ya know I have a special needs son but I need something in my life to..
I'm not letting my kids choose for me anymore..I let my teen daughter push me around a while ago and its not happening again if she doesn't like what I do get on the greyhound and go see Mom..so the answer is still yes.

No way would I ever move away for a girl. I've worked too hard to establish myself with my career and as far as I'm concerned, no woman is worth me tossing that away!

I'm with Ed on this one...sometimes we think we are doing the right thing by "living" for our children...I have come to realize that i am a much better parent when i am content and happy in my life...and i guess if i had to relocate...as long as it is within reason...then that's what i would do...

The details i would work out as i went along...life is much too short to pretend at living...and imagining that the "perfect life" is just going to walk up to your front door and present itself...dunno

I would move for someone I love. I don't have children, but I am established here, and it would mean leaving my career here and setting up somewhere new, but as you say Wikked, I'd work out the details as I went along. Life is much too short!

applause yay

When you are not in that position...it is easy to say...Oh I would NEVER do that...or... I would move to the ends of the earth for my one true love....roll eyes

When you are faced with such a decision...it is absolutely nerve wracking...because there is no simple answer...uprooting one's self from all they have become accustomed to...especially those of us that are in our late 30's and over....because usually at that age you have "established" yourself where you are...jobs, homes, families...children, grandchildren....and giving it all up for the "devil you don't know"...

But I still say Ed has the right of it...after its all said and done..."parents" are still people that deserve to have a life...dunno

I would definitely consider relocating for that special someone...But he would have to be really special in order for me to do it. I have a great support system here and to leave would have to be for the right person. (Obviously) It definitely wouldn't be easy and wouldn't be a spur of the moment decision. I do have my daughter to think about and would have to figure out the legalities of moving her away from her father. But in short, never say never...

Absolutely.

Part of life is taking chances..the leap of faith..and having a soft place to land.

I'm going to be a nurse..part of the reason I chose nursing is because of the flexibility..nurses are needed in all corners of the world.

I look at it this way .. What wouldn't I do to be with "him?" If you're in love and you want to be with them...you'll do what you need to.. My family would understand and I'd see them as much as possible. I love to travel and plan on travelling anyhow..It would just be another adventure :)

Most definately if I found the right person I'd relocate to be with him and start a life. Guarantee it.

Definitely. It would take time to establish that she's 'THE ONE' then I'd be there in a flash. (oxymorom perhaps)
