No I dont think its possible for all people on earth to practice the same religion. Its evident that people have different beliefs and cultures. More wars have been started over religious beliefs than any other reason. Religion is a personal belief and if you believe it to be true then its true to you.
Most religions are associated with a belief in dogma.
For example, Christianity is founded on the idea that Jesus was born of a virgin, rose from the dead, and was indeed the living ‘son of god’.
I hear so many individual ‘Christians’ say that those ‘details’ aren’t important, and they are really into the religion for the brotherly love aspect of it. But that’s absurd. They could be into brotherly love without supporting superstitious doctrines they don’t really believe in.
To support Christianity is to support the whole belief that Jesus was THE ONE AND ONLY incarnation of god and that they only way to salvation is through him.
That’s really the basis of Christianity. Take that part of it away, and it’s just brotherly love. It’s no longer ‘Christianity’.
There were MANY sages throughout history that taught precisely the same philosophical morals that Jesus taught. There was nothing special about Jesus in the things that he actually taught.
In fact, I would love to support Jesus the man, but I’m not prepared to support the rest of the dogma of ‘Christianity’ in order to do that.
Unfortunately, religion equals a believe in a specific dogma, not merely a belief in a god. Also some people don’t care for the idea of an egotistical godhead (myself included). I prefer to think of ‘god’ as the entirety of all living spirits. (i.e. the spirit of the universe). As far as I’m concerned there is no Santa Claus sitting in a throne making commandments and passing judgments. We are all ‘god’.
I can live with Christians as neighbors (if they also happen to be nice people), but I’d rather now ‘worship’ with them because in my mind they are worshiping a fictitious manmade idol rather than their true natural spirit.
Their ‘religion’ separates them from their spirit rather than helping them to become one with it.
Can they both be true? Well how can god be both, your spirit, AND a completely separate egotistical being in his own right? I don’t see any compatibility there.
Thanks a lot to all of you for sharing your valuable ideas with me. I admit that some members gave very important and new ideas about my question.
Although, we all tried to find out the answer, but almost no one tried to define the religion. Is it possible to have another exercise and all of try to define RELIGION...!
Religion is the man made system that springs up around a spiritual event and is nothing more than someones attempt to control others through their beliefs.
There are so many religions, so how can anyone say if they are all true? Doesn't the word "religion" cover a lot of area? But I think you hae a point and that there is one God. And He covers a lot of territory, He has different names.
Here, I disagree with AB as he said Religion is a man made system because some religion, for example, Christanity, Jewism and Islam claim to be heavenly religions. Prophet of God told people about the religion of the god. So, what you say in this regard.
Is there any difference between religion and faith ?
I agree, FB. I am glad you worded your 2nd para the way you did. I have had many a debate where the statement "religion causes wars" was used. Not true. People cause wars (in the name of religion). Just as guns don't kill people, people kill people. If there weren't guns, human beings are innovative enough to find other ways if they are so inclined. If religion wasn't the excuse, it would be something else, such power, control, etc??
It would be nice to think we could all come together as one and live in harmony and peace but, sadly, I don't think it will happen. Simply because of human nature and we seem to have this need for segregation (probably because we tend to feel we are right and our way is the correct way?). We can but hope ....
So, because of the diversity of the human nature, it is not possible that all people may agree on the one religion. If it is the case then it means that different religions are the result of natural phenomenon. If we take this difference as natural then we will have to admit that there may be more than one religion, which are right at the same time...!

1) is it possible that all people on the earth practise the same religion and
2) If all people can not practise the one religion, then is it possible that all religions are true...?
