No, I dont think so, perhaps I cant be 'faithful' by any conventional definition of the word. But is it being unfaithful to seeking comfort, physical warmth, affection when you need it, when you are lonely for periods of time? Does 'faithful-ness' require self-denial. Yes, perhaps it does but it is all a matter of degree, isnt it? How long is 'long' over here? Is it a sign of things to come? A situation with no end in sight? Isnt love to a great extent a matter of togetherness as well? If so, when being together is missing, isnt a vital component missing from the relationship? Is this faithfulness imposed by social convention, by ability of self-denial, by confusing faith with human love?
All this may be rationalisation but then who has the right to dictate what constitutes devotion and love and force everybody to accept it or be declared unworthy?
