Can human beings evolve? ( Archived) (26)

Well it's a strange thought i must say but it comes to mind sometimes. We all (or almost all) that species evolve and natural selesction is of great importance in the progress of living things. But it's rare for us humans to think that we can evolve not only physically but also in the way we think and act. So do you think that it's possible after many years humans will find a way to live in better communities with peace and respect for the other people?

To be honest I think we will blow each other up first!

violence and destroys it we are doomed!

anyaway i don't think violence is written in the genes. Violence can be a result of many things which are difficult to find out and destroy. As an example see the violence in schools.

Great question! Certainly, physically, we are evolving... humanity's average height increasing, our females reaching puberty at ever younger ages. These changes may be caused by our own changes to everyone's environment, but that is still evolution, is it not? The real issue, of our brutality, of our leaders killing for the sake of peace... is really about who controls the wealth. There is enough for everyone, our little blue home is still bursting with plenty. That plenty is simply not shared fairly among us. Our current system allows a small, ruling minority to dictate who among us-(ALL of us! Every human)-shall horde the majority of our resources. I believe that the vast majority of us wishes to live in true peace, to share alike, with ALL of us. Maybe I am wrong... lots of the posts on this question believe that humanity will self-destruct... But only if the majority of WE THE PEOPLE let it happen! The G-8, the USA are so powerful (at this time...) that the policys of our governments affect THE WHOLE WORLD!! To me, that means as a USA-citizen, MY vote, affects many many more of our human race than the mere 5% living in the USA. I feel personally responsible for the effects my government has over so many humans on our little world. WANT TO EVOLVE? Get involved, vote-(though it may seem futile, do it anyway, take responsibility-PLEASE!), e-mail Congress, join/start a peace movement. Learn the truth, not all news is true! The bigest tool the Ruling Minority have over the vast MAJORITY is our ignorance. WE CAN CHANGE HUMANITY'S PATH!! WE ARE NOT HELPLESS!! WE CAN EVOLVE, WE CAN EVOLVE we need not remain, "sheeple".
