CS forum blocking similair to pop-up blocker (14)
I think that is a fantastic idea...just like the mute option on chat sites.

individual choice, a new freedom as everyone has the freedom of speech. let the Cs forums be first to offer freedom of ignoring ...not to have to see or read anothers posts threads and thoughts .
it would be wise that the person blocked has noeasily accesible knowledge they are blocked . some do not like being prevented form voiceing thier opinions but here they csn voice all they want and those thst choose not to read them can continue enjoying the Forums to the fullest extent.

An excellent idea
How absolutely fantastic it would be to have the ability to completely block the people on here who we really cannot stand. Not just on our block list but also blocked on the forum threads.
I very rarely block people though, only have 3 on my blocked list so I suppose it's quite an honour if I have blocked you in a strange sort of way

Its a great idea firelighter... but its unworkable... some people may comment on blocked person X words and then those would show in their reply.
If they were blocked and ignored by some, and not by others, some threads would become a heap of misunderstanding. Maybe Ms X appologizes, and it cant be seen, or explains at lenght and it cant be read, tho another person refers to it...
Also - I personally feel it is taking it too far. What I would like would be a function to erase a persons pic, whose smug look I cant stand, at my choice... but that would be to much to ask...

You may well be right, but I'm reminded daily about our own governments and families who attempt save us from the Bad or simply negative. not revealiing the whole story on the pretense of saving our emotions and feelings.
I find it somewhat humorous that you would only eliminate the picture.

After all you can block flowers and emails already?
In the State,s we have the option to block junk mail (flyers and adverts) from being delivered... At times I hate that i've done this, but overall I'm grateful.
I do not have to empty my mailbox daily from one container to the next(trash can).

Sometimes we can't rely on technology. I prefer to think we can try to rely on ourselves.
I admit that I find it difficult not to post when I read some of what I think of as unfair comments, but when I take the time to really think about it..., I decide that these are people with whom I have no interest in becoming friends or having relationships with. I realize that THEY are doing me a favor, narrowing down the mass of people available for me to sort through for relationships.
Try looking at it that way...tranquility is often nice, but self control may even bring more inner peace????

I admit that I find it difficult not to post when I read some of what I think of as unfair comments, but when I take the time to really think about it..., I decide that these are people with whom I have no interest in becoming friends or having relationships with. I think it wpould be considerate of CS to implement something along this line... as you so aptly stated...

would it be possible for Cs to program a blocker that whoever you find distasteful you place them on list and then you do not se any of that persons post,s threads, flowers or e-mail....
Imagine the tranquility it would bring. It would also prevent hostilities from reaching the extent where vile, vicious, cruel, and hateful remarks from being posted.
