Taking one another for granted...not recognizing that your relationship needs nurturing and regular attention.
Appreciation on the most basic level...lots of 'please' and 'thank you dear'.
Oh, and as has been mentioned prior: good, honest communication is fundamental.
It sounds boring, but I've seen it in action...it really does work!

I agree.. like I read somewhere before..
A relationship IS like a garden.. if you look after it .. tend it and care for it.. everything thrives.
If you start to neglect parts of it.. they die off.
if it hasn't gone TOO far.. you can care for those things again and get them back.
but if you neglect it enough.. it ALL becomes a barron wasteland.. where there is almost no way back.

Am thinking about you, this has made my think about when my step son died, people a knew crossed the street rather than talk to me, because they didn't know what to say and it hurt. You are there for her and just her knowing that will help her so much, you will find the words.
