I agree. Latin men are very cool, as long as they know very good English, because my Spanish sucks right now...

most latin men are are very "machistas", very demanding. There are a few who are not, specially those that have been educated in Universities outside of their countries of origin. But for those that have lived and grew up in a latin country, it is very difficult for them to adapt to a woman whose highly educated, specially if she earns more than he does.

but I think it is the same with men of other cultures as well. Men that have little education and exposure, can be very insecure.

I ADORE Latino men... The love of my life was Mexican... and no machismo thing going, either... very cosmopolitan, well-mannered, and totally hot... He was killed in Costa Rica 20 years ago.

I dated a Latino man for 8 years, lived with him for one. I wish he loved me as much as me loved his mamee! Family comes first with them and their mate....a very very distant 159678493494! Boy was he handsome though and could he dance!!!!!

You certainly have a preconceived conception of a latino man... Believe me hun, evolution have reached them too. Besides, Latinamerica is not only Mexico, it goes further all the way to Cabo de Hornos in Argentina... and Argentinians are as different from a Mexican as an Italian from a Russian, and they are both Europeans.
And yes, in most parts of Latin America, ladies expect for their date to pay. If they are out with their girlfriends they pay for themselves, but if they are out with a date, not a boyfriend, the man pays. After the relationship has evolved, then sometimes, actually most of the times, date expenses are shared. In LatinAmerica a lot of women are well paid professionals that can afford paying when they go out. If you go for the aborigins with no education, which are more traditional, then dig dip in your pocket, dear.
