Children? Then what is the meaning of their lives? Their children? Progressing the species cannot be the meaning of life...

I think it's funny as hell that someone started a thread with this title because when I first start chatting with someone, one of the first things I like to ask is, "What are your thoughts on the meaning of life?" And it's interesting the way that how they react to being asked a question like this is as insightful as what their answer is. I've gotten everything from several intelligently thought out paragraphs that could be used as a springboard for a college thesis to "I dunno...I never really thought about it."

My answer would be...life is like money. It only has value if you believe it does. There is no cut and dried answer to the meaning of life. It's a matter of one's own perspective. To me, the meaning of life is learning as much as I can about the world and pursuing the things I enjoy; art and music. And using my talents to the best of my ability and just maybe, even if it's a fraction of a percent, make the world a slightly better place for some people. Lofty ambition, I know...
