Yes, I'm the same....I have been reading some threads in the international Forums.....and I must say, some of these girlies inform the entire world days before their first CS date......and then continue with updates thereafter......assuming that it's all real (which is a VERY big assumption, mind you....)...I also get a bit squeamish, don't you??...it's like watching a sickly sweet romance serial on TV....I wish the commercials would come...well, I suppose I could just turn my damn computer off!!!!...lol....
not cynical at all, it's nice to know that someone has found a partner, nice to see that CS actually works, but that's it.
Good to see how they are doing now and again too, but not run an episode like some do on the international forum, sometimes it's like an episode of Coronation street

You're both exactly right. Whilst I love the real success stories further down the line ie. marriage for them or long term success, it is rather like watching a soap opera.

the worst part is when after a lady tells her love story various times, she finds out that the other party was a player!!

Internet is only a means of connecting with someone (i.e assuming that the person behind the profile is actually the person who they say they are!).
After that, it's only meeting for real... checking out the chemistry..date.. see if there's compatibility and similar goals, and talk about being exclusive etc, will ANYTHING turn into SOMETHING!
Internet is fun...but being in a relationship needs to get REAL first! A huge ongoing love story online for all to see, could easily turn to dust... You can never really know the person behind the *screen*...until you've met them.

There are several happy couple who met in CS; I'm half of one of them, and yet I like this site and some of the people I've met here. I enjoy meeting people from the local CS group, and would like to continue meeting them at social gatherings.

I am a boring old gentleman with nothing to tell!
Once upon a time, when I was a virile youth, I once sallied forth upon my trusty steed ( a piebald three-legged horse with just the one eye)...................and I met this damsel in distress, crying pitifully by the side of the road.
Not wanting to interfere, I decided to pass her by, but my trusty steed's wooden leg collapsed at that exact moment! I was thrown off the useless beast. I landed on this poor woman. Luckily she broke my fall, and I was uninjured. Praise the Lord!
I thanked her, remounted my poor excuse for a horse and bade her farewell.
As my horse stumbled onwards I heard her pitiful cries, but I had a mission to find the holy grail, and she could not distract me from my duty.
Ahhhh, those were the days!

I get that when people are 'in love' or 'infatuated' you probably want to shout from the rooftops but just don't think I'd like the whole virtual world knowing every little details about a new budding romance. In another way I suppose it does also give others some enlightment that he or she is still out there.
Am I just getting cynical?
