I agree, its nice to get a thank you, and heart felt one, it wasnt directed only at single mums, but also single Dads as well, as i am one.
Our roles are the same in bringing up our kids, Well i think it would be,
But I know its bloody hard doing without a partner!!! but our kids are worth it.

I also agree as I too am a single father...
It is not often or even a rare occassion when we also are credited for our role as a single parent.
Kudos to you Sir, A simple acknowledgement can always be encouraging.
It will be interesting to keep an eye on this post to see how many other single fathers are here.
And i agree Man or woman..... Single parenting is difficult, because as much as you try, it is still impossible to actually pull off the role of the missing parent.
The Rewards for your efforts are immense
But the challenge is also equally as immense

Hell, lets all get married to each other then we dont have to be single parents anymore! Then we can "multi parent" our kids!!
It is tough to be a single parent...especially with the teenagers but I think we are all doing a wonderful job!~

Thank you so much for your kind words. It is hard to be a single parent for anyone, I'm 19 and mommy to an 8 month old. Even when his father and I were together it was as if I was a single parent. This definitely touched my heart. thank you so much.

I think that this is the sweetest thing you have ever said and I want to thank you! I am a single parent and try to do everything possible for my child I love him more than life itself. I would give my life for him if needbe and when I saw this thread I just had to reply!!

Warning # 2: This post is to commend single parents, not give them a stomping ground to bash the opposite gender.
I just want to say bless you all. Single parenthood is so commonplace in this day and age that it's become easy for many of us to forget what a tremendous burden it can be to raise children alone and by yourselves without a traditional family unit. It's time you should receive a little pat on the back because that doesn't seem to happen very often anymore. I myself am not a parent but nonetheless am certainly not without powers of observation. I see your efforts and sacrifices, and I see the struggle you face so... valiantly.
The future and tomorrow's future is brought to be because of you. I hope that every single-parent, man and woman alike, knows that although it may be seldom said these days... your strength of character and the love that drives you, does not go unnoticed. To each of you, your just rewards... may your hopes and aspirations for yourselves and your children, be as a ray of Sunshine lighting the path before you to the fulfillment of all your happiness. Know that you are remembered, and that you are thought of often even by those whom do not make it known. Know that life hasn't forgotten you...
