I agree totally - a culture and being 'cultured' have entirely different meanings.........plus you can grow a nice 'culture' in a petri dish thingy made up of nice/nasty thingies that reproduce like..erm..bacteria - now SOME people are like a culture of stuff you don't want to get on your hands and find you life is in danger with 'superbugitus'!

I am sure Sir Wedward will come back soon and tell him what real culture is all about! help rolling on the floor laughing

Hi all, I might be way outta my league here what with all these big words being used (haven't hit Google up yet to get the definition) but I'll give the whole "Culture" meaning a shot.

For me, I'm American so in my opinion, my culture is a mix of your's. Other than being a Native American, we have blended all the European Cultures into one big mass. If you were to travel the South Side of Chicago where it is mostly Italian and compare it to Chinatown in San Francisco or the Irish parts of Philadelphia, you'll see its all different in the way they go about their daily interactions with each other. Yet at the same time, we all call ourselves Americans.

Culture to me is where we come/came from and its our heritage. Its how we blend it into our daily lives and what it is that we look back on in history and be proud of with the intent of teaching our children to carry it on. Our culture defines us as individuals and as a group.

I could go on but my "Crack" Lab dog is demanding my attention.. doh

Thank you SrAIMcD, what you descibe is surely IT. Yes, the culture of people is their ethnically defined heritage..... Italianos do the Marone Dance, the Innuits do the Blubber Dance, the Native Americans do the Sun/Rain Dance, the Swiss do the Cleaning Dance better known as "Shake your Rugs Boogie" and also "Let your Duvet hang out (da window)" which is nice for Hip Hop style dancing.

I wonder which dance the Maltese do? ...

The Maltese dance? I believe it's a secret that I haven't been told! T

hey do have some traditional dancing which I saw on television once, and as a kid I used to often hear traditional male singing which has almost totally died out with the musical instrument that accompanied it - it was really quite horrendous to my sensitive ears and caused me severe depression from which I am still recovering!

The Prime Minister was doing the maltese 'we love the euro' dance last night - being the first person to take euros out of one of those fangled thingies called a 'cash point'!

(I asked to be given a 'cash point card' but was told you had to have 'money' in an account for one! Hey - what's the point of giving the bank your 'money' if you then take it out of a machine? Why not leave it under your mattress like us rural Gozitans do?)

doh cool dancing
