Marriage is off the books for me. I tried it once, and it didn't agree with me.

I would be ok with living together for a while, but if it was longer than a year, I would want to get married for legal reasons if nothing else.
I lived with someone for many years, and never married them. When I left, I really had no *legal* claim to most of what was mine. I did not keep every receipt for every single thing I had bought, and it was his house.
So I won't screw myself over like that again.

I think the problem is that most people, women particularly, can't see past the Wedding. It is only one day of the rest of your lives. Marriage follows! That is when it started to suck for me! lol!
Save a lot of effort! Just buy yourselves a nice dress, and have a big party! Use the money that you would have used for the divorce!

Maybe its true Karen ... i feel that many times too.. most women seem to be too focussed on getting married as a big event in their life that all else seems to take a backseat.
