tugs at the heart - thank you for sharing. The violin and the boy - both ravages; beautiful music flowed from the 'weeping' in the caverns of their souls.

I'd like to share a story
about a little violin
it was constructed by a luthier
who drank a lot of gin
He gave it to a teacher
who barely knew her stuff
she loaned it to her students
and it got treated pretty rough
The teacher's violin
became a battered broken toy
so she sold it for a penny
to a forlorn little boy
He took the violin
and tuned up all the strings
then slowly learned to make it sound
like a songbird when it sings
He played it every day
and he played it every night
he played the violin
even though he had no sight
His music came from deep within
for he could never read the score
Yet everyone who heard him play
would always ask for more
Then one day his parents came
to the orphanage where he stayed
A tipsy craftsman and a teacher
for whom he never played
His performance was phenomenal
as he played on stage that day
His music filled their hearts
with a love they had betrayed
Tears flowed from their eyes
as they listened to him play
such a gentle loving nature
in the boy they threw away
