i got one of those fibre optic trees last year

its great , gives a beautiful light show and all i have to do is plug it in and its ready ........ no tinsel or baubles

nice and easy

apart from that i get loads of cards, that go all around the wall, and ive a few special crimbo ornaments i use

and i have this really funny elvis santa that wiggles his butt and says " ahuh ahuh ahuh merry christmas everybody"

i put lights up outside across the top of the house and around the boundary fences, it looks very pretty

i love those houses that go over the top ........me and the kids have to drive around town and up and down streets looking out for the illuminated houses so we can sit there for a few minutes ooing and arring bfore moving onto the next one

When I moved back in 2005 I got rid of quite a bit of stuff... I used to have a light up nativity for the outside, you know, those big plastic figurines...sold em. Used to have several strands of garland...sold em. I have lights for the outside, but no outlet to plug them into. When I got divorced I too purchased a fake tree...ended up taking it to Good Will after buying a newer fake tree with the lights already on it.

The ornaments for the tree are mostly plaster ones that I've painted over the years. When I can find em I buy more & paint them...toy soldiers, gingerbread houses, etc. The tree skirt is one I made. I've also cross stitched a whole bunch of precious moments ornaments, but need to get small hoops to be able to finish them off.

I was debating whether to even do any decorating this year, especially since it's just me & no possibility of my kids coming up...well guess I can't really call a 23 year old a kid...lol But came to the decision the other day that my first Christmas in my own house should probably get decorated.
