New toys to play with on the site, but also a diversion from real communication. I have never used an emoticon because I want to express myself, and an emoticon is not me. What's next, pre-written threads and responses similar to what exists in the send flower feature ? A forum is a powerful feature. It allows the author to express feelings, which is what this site is all about.

Language and the written word is what separates us from all other animals. Now we can attempt to express through music videos, pictures and more emoticons. I'd rather remain within the human factor.

I adore Dana and Daniel. There is no other feature on the web that could convey what I just wrote in this sentence.

CS, could we get back to basics ? There is a new cell phone that can start your car from 900 miles away. Great technology, but for what purpose ? We don't need anymore toys.

I think some of the reasons for these "upgrades" is due to ....other forums and dating sites are using these new tools. For competitive reasons maybe this is why???? I don't know

Beb. All the technology in this world could never replace what you convey in your own words. I know you because you have held yourself out here for all to see. You have made yourself known by the words that you write, and that is comforting, to you and to viewers.

Most people will call the puke the winner, because it's too much trouble to try and figure out what the hell I wrote.

wave I agree they are good in moderation.

It's like it was at the start with the polls.. a flurry of (most) people trying them out.. then it evens out nicely.. and is more now .. used when 'needed'.

It'll die down, it's just a new toy to play with, but even the text formatting is more trouble than it's worth (IMO), and pictures, well sometimes one is worth a thousand words, but for the most part, not necessary in the forums.

Now this I like, for us old folks!laugh

I like the new toys, and think its great that they are here.
CS is now in the running’s with the bigger sites. I do realize that it human nature to not want to change, but some of us here think the small changes are great.
I personaly like the Emoticons and the fact that they added a TEDDY BEAR is the coolest of all.teddybear

I like the new toys and I think the use of them all the time will die down. If you are making a post on for example politics and you need evidence to back it up. Youutube will come in very handy.
