Some people used alcohol to escape the reality, but alcohol is temporary and the alcoholic peson try to fill up this emptiness everyday drowning himself in a very long period of time, Until he realized can't go back anymore he already reach peak...no family...no friends, no future....its a chaos its and end... better think about it!!!

My mum died of alcoholism (and every possible conceivable thing that goes along with it)
For the first 20yrs I would say it was an addiction... she COULD have stopped.. she COULD have tried.
But for the last maybe 2yrs it was definitely a disease for her by then..
She was waayy .. wayyyyyyyyyyyy past the point of being able to *Choose* whether she drank or not.
When she died she weighed 70lbs.. (she was 5ft'5) Had a stomach FULL of ulcers.. Cirrhosis of the liver.. Acute Pancreatitis and was 'Severely dehydrated' and 'Severely malnourished'
and THAT was all still living at home with my dad.. not neglected and 'alone'
She became waaayy past the point of any control over 'choice' .
capigirl: Is alcoholism a disease ? I know they say it is, but to me disease is something you have no control over, such getting cancer, where as is alcoholism, the person does have control over drinking or not drinking. no one is forcing the person to take a drink, he has a choice, but when you get cancer, you had no control over getting cancer. what is your thought on it?
u think alcoholics want to live the way they do? alcoholism is a recognised disease, acoholics have NO control over their drinking. they have no ability to drink "normally".
I think both !!but!! it's more genetic though You only the disease defence in court or if you said something against another race Like( caugh)Mel gibson,Michael richards,Doug the bounty hunter,The green M&M and ect
Everyone is entitled to their opinion! Wouldn't do some of you any harm to actually know a bit about what have formed your opinons on!
You might not look as silly if you base your opinions on actual fact and knowledge on a subject, rather than basing them on ignorant observations or ideas!
