you are right... some people just don't bother to even open the flowers or emails, but there are so many others that are nice and care about other's feelings too... you cannot generalise.
as others have also pointed out already to you, it depends on what you write in the email... why should I bother to reply to someone who sent me "we live near each other... why don't you join me tonight for a f***? i can give you lots of pleasure!! " these people are so rude that I just block them.

yes, I have had that and I think it's as rude as hell. No matter what's sent or said, you can and should reply even if it is to politley decline. There are good and bad everywhere, rude and polite, everyone's different, but bad manners are bad manners and I wouldn't waste any time even thinking about the non repliers, they're just plain rude. I had one guy talk with me on the IM all night one night, we really connected, he even invited me to holiday with him. He sent a mail the next day, then when I replied, not only did he ignore me for a week, but ended up deleting his profile! I even had his own e-mail address and he still wouldn't answer. Look, if people are going to be rude, they're not for you, ignore them, you'll get replies, and from the right people, so don't worry ok.. you're not alone!

Hi Lisa Jane, yes I agree with the above. I asked for men between 35 and 50 but was getting mails from 20 somethings and 60 somethings and men that definately don't want smokers or tatoos etc. Well I smoke AND have tatoos, so you're right, I don't think most of them DO read our profiles which is crazy. What's the point of that? It's a waste of time when you could be spending your time more wisely by finding a better match rather than just spitting out all those flowers and mails willy nilly! Yes this has happened to me quite a few times, I mailed gents (I use the word loosely) and received no reply. I do feel an aknowledgement of a mail would be the polite thing to do, I mean its not as if they are commited to anything by simply saying hi.
At first I found it disconcerting but now I just realise they are simply not intereseted and if they havent the manners to reply neither am I.

Hi Vonney! You're so right! It can make you paranoid for a while, you think there's something wrong with you if they don't reply, but it's THEIR bad manners for sure. All I can say is god help the women they end up with! Keep up the good work! Warmest.. Susie
