I think when a comic, can find where the line is drawn, cross it, and still be sucessful. I really believe that is true genius. I also believe, that it is beneficial to society.

Almost everybody loves humor. Almost all of us love to laugh. Alot of what makes comedy funny is the element of truth.
Where are the limits of tolerance?
Are there really subjects that are too serious to joke about?
Is it true it's okay to joke about Jesus, but Mohammad is off limits?
Or is the above only true on television?
Is the Muslim faith more serious than the Christian faith?
Or do Christians need to start more explosions to frighten people into submission?
Or is the submission only intended for television?
If Bill makes a joke, and Ted finds it offensive, then who's problem is that?
Is it Bill's problem, or Ted's problem?
Surely someone has an opinion on this.....

The genius is to do it without getting you balls busted. I think I have about a 50/50 sucess rate. The benefit is that humor takes the edge off the seriousness, and opens the topic up more for discussion.

Most of today's top comics are absolutely unafraid of offending people, they will joke about any topic under the sun.
It doesn't matter if some people don't like it. For some odd reason, people not liking it has very little effect on the success of these comics.
Why?
