When you think of your past or times, when you were in love, were you ever fond of writing or getting love-letters? Was it difficult for you to express your feelings in this way, and how was your reaction of a love-letter, if you were not able to reply? Have you still kept some of these letters?

Actually I loved to write these, and would have been disappointed , if there was no reaction.

Nah, dont do that anymore. They were used as evidence in one of my numerous divorce cases.....! Now its just word of mouth which I can deny - or perjure myself!cheers

Munichtexan: SMS and email makes it easier

But doesn't it kill the romantic natureangel ?

SMS and e-mails can't be preserved and be read in a time, when you remember , maybe, when you are old or you're partner is gone. Found love-letters of my parents, and it was so touching!
Can't help, but would prefer something hand-written.sigh

But it is so nice getting a little message saying 'Sweet good morning Kiss Hooligan". Besides, Smoky is right! Don't want incriminating evidence that I was ever soft and mushy. H***, how would I ever keep those grandkids in line if they thought Grampa was soft. (Not that I have any, but maybe in 20 years I would!) tongue

I awake full of you. Your image and the intoxication of last night give my senses no rest.

Sweet, incomparable Josephine, what a strange effect you have on my heart. Are you angry? Do I see you sad? Are you worried? My soul breaks with grief, and there is no rest for your lover; but how much the more when I yield to this passion that rules me and drink a burning flame from your lips and your heart? Oh! This night has shown me that your portrait is not you!

You leave at midday; in three hours I shall see you.

Meanwhile, my sweet love, a thousand kisses; but do not give me any, for they set my blood on fire.

Technology does not have a look in to a letter, handwritten with passion and love. I remember those times.

You also have to remember, people change their mobile phones quite often. So, the visualisation and memory also vanishes.

nuff said.

"getting" a sms is "nice", but writing and express feelings is soft and mushy? How poorgrin

Have you ever read love-letters of, for example Napoleon, or Earl Mirabeau, leading mind of the french revolution , for the wife of another Marquis (ok, beside the fact of cheating), or of King Henry to Anna Boleyn (ok, afterwards he killed her), but were they afraid to be "soft and mushy"? Lord Nelson to Lady Hamilton: "I neither can sleep nor eat, because I only think of you, my love, I even don't like Pudding".

PAT BOONE -

Love Letters In The Sand

(Words by Nick and Charles Kenny, Music by J. Fred Coots)

On a day like today
We pass the time away
Writing love letters in the sand

How you laughed when I cried
Each time I saw the tide
Take our love letters from the sand

You made a vow that you would ever be true
But somehow that vow meant nothing to you

Now my broken heart aches
With every wave that breaks
Over love letters in the sand

Now my broken heart aches
With every wave that breaks
Over love letters in the sand

Bet someone still remembers this Song?
conversing

Otherwise it seems it's getting time for the Retirement Home for me.confused uh oh blues moping mumbling grin

How lovely Hootsie, and how I agree with you. Unfortunately nobody writes letters nowadays, it's too much like hard work. Text messages or e-mails are generally written and sent hurriedly, they are devoid of real emotion in my opinion.

A beautifully handwritten letter however takes effort and time.

Munichtexan: SMS and email makes it easier

Never wrote or recieved the traditional love letter, but tons of SMS and email went by through past stories. Then what's the whole point of leaving remanents of what was and never may, scattered in my inbox?

I just deleted everything.
Only memories never die.
Then the good ones seem to fade away easier than the last straw that parted us.

Time to move on - make space for someone else roll eyes wink

--- the trouble is nowadays people seem rather blasé on poems love letters etc even the songs being written are of the empowerment of being placing more barriers to romance and love
--- and yer know the funny thing --- its the thing thats mostly lacking in any "comfortable relatiopnship
--- I say if you are lucky enough to be blessed with that wonderful "loveEnergy" --- dont let the new found so called "Freedom" =--- "Cage You" kiss hug angel

--- so many people do not even get to experience it --- usually because of barriers thereselves and others have placed in their minds

--- Love like you've never been loved
