No!! I actually do mean exactely what I said.
I can have a "very big gob" but NOT if someone is trying to manipulate me into justifying my opinions or decisions!!! Because now as I get older I have realised that the more one justifies one's opinions/positions the weaker one sounds and the more one sounds like one is trying to convince oneself!!!
And this is the last I shall say on this matter!!!

You're right FOS, as a 'people person' this is something I've learnt with time. So many times in the past I've capitulated when I shouldn't have.
Be direct and stick to your guns if someone is trying to persuade you otherwise, but only when you know you are right and they are talking rubbish.
I still find it difficult at times though.

I've had loads of practise "handling" difficult teenagers (as a teacher) who's fav pastimes were attemting to goad you and draw you into futile argumenst ... Still working on it though Sometimes I can still be "drawn in" ... Teenagers and challenge should be synonimous!!! Some great momories for the most part ...I have pretty much retired from teaching for now ... apart from the occasional day of supply at my old school when I'm "around" (in UK) ... and want to make a few quick bucks
