Your in an walk-in clinic, your waiting for hours, a parent walks in with a child. the child is sick. It's first come first serve,
would you give up your spot for the child, or for anyone that appears sick. You have waited a long time. What would you do? Justlike to see who outs there with this one. Health care at its worse.

the good old canadian healthdontcare system rolling on the floor laughing please have a seat and wait. and wait. and wait. and wait...

depends on what illness I had or the reason for my being there, but if the child was more ill than I for sure i would give up my place. However, I would expect the knowledge of the staff in that clinic to asses things and decide who should be first.

For the Child...No Doubt...Absolutely for sure. I would ask for them to be seen first.

I wish I could give you a positive resolution to this question, and I'm sure it's worse in Canada, but in the U.S. you have to wait sometimes several hours in an emergency room.

THIS IS GREAT CANADA IS WHERE THE STATES ARE AND OUR HEALTH CARE IS SUPPOSEDLY Free. Emergency rooms are still a wait. It is always nice to know the taxes are at work. Poor management, greedy sods!!!!!!!!
It was always the saying, if the CEO or management needed a raise,
get rid of a nurse!!!!!!!!!frustrated

It's all paper work, you wait and wait, get called into the room to see a doctor, the nurse ask you questions and takes your pulse than says the doctor will be right in ,,and you wait and wait and finally the doctor comes in and is out in 5 min... than you wait for the scripts.Screw the doctors 60% percent of visits don't need to go in the first place, stay home and have soup..tongue p.s...you got that advice with no co payment.

Our city just had an alert on the television saying how critical it was that people will have at least several hours to wait. Please go get alternatives. Walk-in clinics, your doctor if you can find one. It is only getting worse. The money is not spent appropriately. IT still comes down to you can't breath, chest pain, your turning blue, your stats are low, dizzy, fainting, that will get you immediate care. forget the rest, even the little girl I mentioned about she waited. I gave up my spot. I saw at least three or four people go ahead of her without batting an eye. sigh

One of the reasons the medical system is backed up is because of the FLU. Flu shots are free, why don't people get them? And there is nothing they can do for you if you have the flu. Same old crap.

Don't put that crap into yoursystem. I mean the flu shot. I have never had the flu shot and survived. if there is an outbreak and it gets reported on radio and tv I stay in. Keeping it isolated is the best bet. The health care system is in dire straights. Our government finally questioned these hospitals to ask 'WHAT IS IT YOU ARE DOING WITH THE MONEY, WITH CLOSURES OF WARDS AND BEDS' like to think the government is clicking in. Will take serious outcomes before the people wake up. Manangement of these hospitals is at its worse.frustrated lips canada

If it was up to me...I would definitely let the child go first...they have so much more to live for..and besides..I love children (and hoping to earn my teaching degree and work with them someday) as lame as that sounds..but I do LOVE children

Well you can thank the Rae government for that one...He's the one that made so many cuts and instituted so called Rae days for doctors that we lost most of them to the U.S....There is a huge shortage of doctors right now all over Ontario so even if you have one...good luck getting an appointment...A person could die waiting in the emergency room these days...5 hrs minimum at our emergency and the clinics aren't all that much better...I have a 3 day rule...If I don't feel better after 3 days...sometimes more...I make a doctor's appointment..that allows time to see if it's just a cold of the flu!!!!!!!

BUT it's bad all over in Ontario right now...wine
