I have been reading soooo many "put downs" about dating internet sites on various forums. Its as if the "internet" is to blame for character flaws in people...dishonesty...lying...cheating...being stood up...heartbreak...players....misrepresentation of one's self and the list goes on...BUT this happens in real life dating too doesn't it??? If everyone is so sure that this is never going to work...then why are they still on it?...and i'm serious here...There are MANY who will use the internet for their "own agenda" (and not anything good i mean)..but how come they are the ones with the upper hands here? Why are the rest of us letting them spoil what could be a lucrative tool for us to use in meeting others?

If I didn't like the internet, then I wouldn't be on this site 24/7, I tried the phone singles and the internet is much better. I mean you aren't going to meet as many people on the net, but you increase your sq. mileage by 100X.

I agree with you Wikked. Like I tell people all the time. Whats the difference with internet dating and meeting someone in a bar. Honestly I would prefer to meet someone online rather than in a bar.

Also while online there is much more advantages because you at least get to know the person first without having to give out personal information so if things didn't work out at least you know this person dosn't know where you live etc..Also you get to make lots of wonderful friends from all over the world.

I also find more success in finding someone via the net than IRL since I have children here at home with me its hard for me to get out of the house to meet people as well.

And what I do not get is those like you mentioned who complain about the internet yet have a profile in a dating site themselves! Why bother if your going to be nothing but negative right?
