They get these huge salaries, and yet they still get so much for free too.
I lived in a seaside village in SA, and just up the road was "Botha House", a mansion on a private golf course, with its own tidal pool, etc., and the cabinet ministers would arrive in army helicopters for their vacations/long week-ends. And chauffeurs would arrive with their big black limos......
One day in the local supermarket, big black limo outside, I saw these two cabinet ministers (the one was to become the President a few years later) and their wives shopping. The one wife was asking which brand of butter she should buy. Those days no-one ate Real Butter it was way too expensive. This big guy in his black suit shouts at his wife "Ek wil egter botter eet!" (I want to eat Real Butter!).
Well, they could afford it. I just thought they were so gross! and greedy! And they had no real pride, they were just gluttons living off the fat of the land, while all around them were very poor people with nothing to eat.

Politicians must work for NO salary?..Just a livable stippend ..... have no business interests - Only allowed TWO bank accounts (one for current use, and one for savings)ONLY the good of the country and its people are their concern - truly dedicated folk....... Or salary could be an average based on the lowest income groups....? Or something like that anyway - no fat cats getting rich.

Mmm.... What I personally think is that maybe it should at least be half and half... more balanced. Less *aggressive* decisions...and more empathy...

I don't think it would make any difference in the broad scheme of things...we have seen from historical events that women leaders do not run governments which are less inclined to violence than those which are led by men. Also, as evidenced on the thread 'How far would you go' to protect your self...in the International Forum, women seem to see violence as a solution just as often as men do.
It's amazing how people this days lump The Right and the act of Self-defense together with any Random Violence of any Sort of Thugs.

Actually ... we dont need any politicians or rulers. Its all just down to Business ..... let the best businessmen/women of each country have the option of being the Leader - and if and when they piss off the public, out they go, and the next one gets a turn?

I really would not think that Women are more or less likely to do a better job of running the running Governments.
There is that odd Physiological quirk though of women having no conscience at all when it comes to killing in a confrontational situation unlike men who do exhibit a conscience about this.
