Maybe Jacko knows what I mean when he,s out on his bike and the bike just seems to have a mind all its own and thinks it,s way round every curve. It,s like I,m totally at one with the whole universe. Maybe it,s just plain old simple relaxation. No, it,s more than that. It,s when I hit every wave just right cos everything is in fine tune, man,boat,nature,universe. Ahhhh....

.............pure pleasure in the simple things in life.........I lock out the rest of the world and it's me and the bike......pure pleasure, no problems or worries, for me there's nothing better.......but a mind of it's own????? Not on these roads
I used to get that feeling on my bike,
throttle, gas pedal and off I'd go .... brilliant feeling.
now I do it by car with the music blaring out of the loudspeakers!

Ah yes Elley, I had that feeling with Windsurfing .... no engine noises, just the slapping of the water, and the wind howling and salty spray and skimming along. Used to have that feeling with surfing till I grew up and got afraid of sharks in the water, so windsurfing was a sort of elevation above the element, much faster and less reliant on wave shapes. Now, well, no ocean .... so the silence of riding a bicycle thru the Forests is similar, sort of .....in a small way .......
.... I feel the sensation of travelling without any engine noises is euphoric ..... must be the same in a glider plane? or Hanglider?......

It's a wonderful feeling that - being out on the open sea - no noise, just the sound of the wind and the water... the smell of the sea and the fresh air... sun and salty breezes...

I think this feeling comes easily any time you are close to nature, and by yourself; for example just walking in the woods. But for me it's more when in contact with the sea or ocean or lake... I did try para-sailing once - which looked fascinating and like it was complete freedom. Well up there I could only think about what to do if the cable would break, or the chute would rip, though...
