Maybe because you put your guard down ?? Not thinking that it will work out so maybe the expectations are less and that leaves the door of your heart/mind/emotions open?
Truly, I fail to understand this myself as there as only been one "local" person who caught my eye, my interest and he vanished into thin air. Seems to be that way, at least from my own experiences, when you really like someone. Now that's a whole other thing I'm still trying to figure out!!
