Thanks! rolling on the floor laughing

I'm sure 'we' shall be very happy!

To tell the truth, I've not been feeling good about myself for some time.

I've just made a really big decision that is going to temporarily ruin me financially; but I am going back to work (after an unexpected early retirement) and I'll be able to hold my head up high and get my self-respect back and ignore taunts from hard-working but jealous 'beta' males!

grin

More importantly I'll be able to 'shrug off' nasty comments made to me because I feel genuinely good about myself instead of feeling 'bad' because I'd done what I THOUGHT was the right thing in caring for my parents when they are NOT my responsibility.......my FIRST responsibility is to MYSELF and I need to feel good about myself and now I do!

Thanks again! it is so good to be 'free' - even if I have to give up my financially secure life and prove myself again as a real man in the workforce!

staying at home/working from home is not easy, as any freelance independent will tell you. Most of us fail at it for obvious reasons...loneliness, isolation, and the big killer....lack of discipline.

you're totally right there

it's hard work working from home! I don't know how I get any work done!laugh

Lack of discipline, that one is a killer!

It's a good job that I'm left-handed then, isn't it?

I love your id - my ex ex ex wife used to do macrame........and she used both hands ofr that particular hooby, but maybe 'knitting_needles' would more suit your witty personality?

excellent news, really, really excellent. I learnt a long time ago (the hard way) that if I do not look after number one because I,m busy, busy, busy looking after number 2,3,4 then there will not be a number one to look after 2,3 and 4 for very long.

First save yourself. When flying, safety notices tell you that in the event of a fall in cabin pressure an oxygen mask will drop on your lap and then goes on to tell you that you should first put your mask on, your child,s after. Common sense, huh?

Ok, now work, build up your self esteem and feel good about yourself. Then you,ll start to feel good about others. Hey presto. Well done.

This message has come to you from some arsewhole who made all the same mistakes and eventually came up with the same solution. Guess what ? It works.

You got a problem with making yourself happy?

Talking about hobbies/personalities - Barbed Wire seems an odd thing to play around with ... huh?

No, actually - not to me, anyway... It took me a while to figure that one out. I think the common sense for any mother (/parent) in that situation is to take care of your child first.

the thing is Nina,

if you don't look after yourself, who's going to look after your children?

children to come first, but mummies toolaugh

sorry, that's definitely not making sense nowblues

Yeah, I know what you mean, DF - and it makes perfect sense; if you don't take care of yourself, who will look after your children? But I think the basic instinct is to make sure your kids are safe first, in an emergency.

You got to stay conscious so you can help the child. If you pass out before fitting the mask on your kid - neither of you are going to survive! A few seconds without oxygen while you fit your mask is not life threatening - but a planeload of unconscious adults means the children have no-one to help them.

I've got to laugh....

logic doesn't seem to work in emergencies... so I guess, no matter how much we're hammered to put the gas mask on first, we'd probably be sorting out the kids first...

rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

those masks should come with a label: "mummies first!"
