EXCELLENT!!!!...me too....no Nicorettes, just will-power ...

Here's a workable device: Make sure you never have a pack of ciggies in the house in the morning, and it's usually too much trouble to go and buy the damn things.....so you end up getting to the end of the day without a smoke......obviously only useful if you work from home, and can control your environment...gives your lungs all day to get rid of that gunge....every day you are smoke free, is another day you give your lungs to clean themselves...

Update this thread tomorrow, and let us know how you are doing...

I gave up smoking 11 years ago, and I was smoking three packs a day!!!

How did I do it?

I went cold turkey, carried mentos for the habit of having something in my mouth & a pen for the habit of holding something in my hand.

The other contributing factor to my success is, I wanted to give up for no other reason than I was sick of it.

Good luck with your task ahead. head banger

Right I just checked your profile. Erm...You're quite hot, why are we talking about ciggies, when we could be talking about your vital stats!

Valleygirl, stop talking about smoking for a minute!

Hi Marie, I quit cold turkey 5 weeks ago, no problem, no gum, no patches.
I found the important thing that worked for me was to stick to the same routine. Coffee time still I would go outside and sit under the patio like I did before. After meals I would do the same things as before except no cigs..It is working fine and the cravings are only lasting a few minutes.
Have a go.....comfort

Ok, well done...that means you smoked half your usual consumption yesterday...
but you're still smoked basically a pack of cigarettes in one day.....you've got a way to go. What's your goal for today??...How many smokes??...how are u going to go about it?...do you think you are strong enough??...if you feel yourself getting weak, focus on all the really yucky results of what's gonna happen to you if you continue....look at emaciated cadavers online, of people who die agonizing deaths from lung cancer....what a horrible death!!...Do you need any more motivation??...nah, prolly not. Now go drink a glass of water...good luck...one day at a time. I didn't smoke a thing yesterday....still got no smokes in the house...let's see how I do today...
