through the darkness- bright eyes shine
silently stalking - teeth bared, prepared
- gleaming in the pale moonlight
casting shadows- of a seeming smile

One of my fav poems!!!

William Blake. 1757–1827

The Tiger

TIGER, tiger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?

And what shoulder and what art
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand and what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? What dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And water'd heaven with their tears,
Did He smile His work to see?
Did He who made the lamb make thee?

Tiger, tiger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

Blake's poem was the first thing I thought of too, Flower.

Thankyou also flower for your research - they are quite different and will possibly add more stanzas - mmmh but sum how perhaps I've captured the essence of what i wanted to say in four lines with the thought provoking last one also yay

soft padded paws in the undergrowth
quietly hide your deadly claws
- a scent of prey a tentative pause
distance sized up- a bound a trip - crack!
jaws sink into the spine- a lifeless corpse

ok its not research laugh -- thanks for looking it up and cut /pasting it ---

although it must be observed - that, when I post a poem on the forums- some feedback on the actual poem posted would be nice - then again having a poem of blakes up is sort of complimentary dunno

thankful preening of fast break
and as dawns curtain makes silhouette wakes
bright eye lids draw to rest.

inspiration comes from different sources..

it may be something you see, hear or read... or even from an abstract thought and when it flows... it just flows...hug
