Skybow: What they are saying on their show, do you just take it at face value trusting them totally to have the truth?
I take it with a grain salt...usually on a cheeseburger with all the trimming..Skybow. I know both Hannity and Colmes histories. That they are matched to make sparks. They place a guest between them and never let him focus on a subject. That way they keep him/her off balance and maybe making some contriversial comment.
Hannity & Colmes, Fox News Channel's primetime debate show, figures prominently in the cable network's campaign to market its right leaning programming as "fair & balanced," the network's ever-present slogan. Fox News executives argue that the show, pitting conservative Sean Hannity against liberal Alan Colmes with guests from both right and left, presents a spirited and evenhanded nightly debate.
Fox News president Roger Ailes is clearly riled by those who suggest the show has a slant to it (New York Times, 6/24/01): "I get attacked for putting Sean Hannity on because he's a conservative--even when Alan Colmes, the liberal, is there to balance him!" Ailes is so insistent that Hannity & Colmes plays it "down the middle" that he says producers use a stopwatch to ensure equal time between the two hosts (Washington Post, 2/5/01).
But a systematic review of Hannity & Colmes does reveal a show listing to the right in virtually every respect, from mismatched hosts--the show pairs the aggressive conservative Sean Hannity with the mildly liberal, often conciliatory Alan Colmes--to a format where conservatives out-number, out-talk and out-interrupt their liberal opponents.
Looks like you need a whole shaker of salt Tom. Everyone here listens to what you say because you are so smart. I do too. But when you bring them this kind of chew toy they are taking it as something with your stamp of approval instead of the more political separatist drivel that it is.

The clinker in that pile of ashes is that who would match up effectively against Hannity? Good topic for discussion, but I've got to get some sleep.

Skybow.. If you ever get a chance to listen to Sean Hannity's radio talk show..."three hours a day, that's all he asks for" I think you might like him. He is a Reagan Conservative, but he is just as apt to criticise the Rebuplicans as the democrats, and he has facinating guests on the program. He is not "overbearing" in his position at all. My feeling is that he genuinely cares.

I get to hear Oberman because my brother turns it on, I don't. I don't even listen to Jon Stewart and al least he is billed as a comedy program.
Naw each to their own poison. I guess it is just that it bugs me to take any of those guys slant as my own even the liberal ones who would be more closely aligned with my views.
Maybe this is more about bashing the opposition than I thought it was and I'm seriously trying to learn something from you all. Just call me Opal then and I won't interrupt your party.

That is what I meant by a 'grain of salt' at the beginning. Once you know thier political leaning of a show host(s)....then you know how they are going approach the guest and the topic.
All these new shows and cable companies are trying for market share and for viewers.......is the name of the game to getting advertisers.
I have fun with it, Skybow....the great American political show is a once a event every 4 years. One of the best specticles on the planet. Getting facts and honest opinion is one thing. Finding the character of the canidate and the heart of what he/she stands for is another.
This is like being tested by fire for both McCain and Obama. Both are finding more inside them, than they ever thought was there. Win or lose, both will be better men once this is over with.jmo

Indyfella: Now there's an objective voice of reason.
I'd never drag him to this party Indy I have more sense than that. I'm glad 'tho You don't think I'm Opal, I wonder sometimes with my long posts, looks kind of like her's don't you think?
Oh well I have to scoot, dragons to slay and horses to feed don't you know.

your posts are logical and sequential. Have fun slaying hte dragons and feeding the horses.
A few thing going on with Obama campaign..........
1) Far left are asking for refunds from their campaign donations to Obama for his move to the center. I think that the check is in the mail will likely be the response that they get from Obama staffers.
2) Jesse Jackson took himself off the Obama VP list today with some comments......that were recorded on a mike at Fox. The comments have already been apologised for....guess the Black Christian Community has some trouble with Obama as well.
3)I got a chance to read up on Obama staff. Three of the top four are all from Chicago. They made contact with him when he was running for the Senate. Axelrode, Jarrett, and one other is from Chi town. Grinn is a political from DC.
4) Obama says that the US should have have direct talks with Iran to offer the stick and the carrot. To them after the missile launch. That we should also have multi national groups to sanction and talk with Iran. Talk of covering your position? He want direct talks AND multinational talks with the worlds leading terrorist supporting country in the world.
Look.....as commander in chief....and ....chief executive officer.....you get make a choice on your international negotiations. You either let the others into them OR you keep them one on one. He choice which....but you need to pick the right one. Shoting gunning it makes it confusing and gives wiggle run.
This is what I referring to when i said his campaign is crumbling at it's foundation. It's interesting that the extreme left is cognizant of this and not sticking blindly to their devotion. Nevertheless, it's all going as predicted... Say one thing to overcome Hillary, same something else to appease the moderates, and say something entirely different when he gets in office.

Dimples are a very good thing for a beautiful girl to have. My granddaughter came up with a good one last time I was there.
