pyaremohan: right.....we(humans) dont think collectively.it takes a al gore to bring the environment issue into the focus.....oil crisis could have been averted we we took steps way back in 2004 n likewise to alternate sources of energy maybe cuttin down on our energy needs .
Would be interesting to find out IF and HOW MUCH Oilstock OwlGore owns!
I enjoyed the title of one article on the price fall....
Title was "Oil Prices Fall Among Economic Fears"
Saying to self......the guy writing this is either a solid Democrat or totally new to business reporting....and had seen the by-line of "economic fears" so manytimes...he just knew it had to be in the title or his editor would not place it.
this is big business BS ... they raise it to an extreme price to freak you out and then roll it back to the increase they really wanted in the first place, where you'll actually be happy to pay it since its not as high anymore. They just gained another psychological $5 on our stupid "oh thats better" brain cells.
If a financial analyst did a Cost/Benefit analysis on Al Gore with his mansion on one side of the equation and all the good he's done by putting the topic of global warming on the front burner and bringing awareness of the problem to the global community, the result would be in the neighborhood of 1,000,000 to 1. I find it very curious that so many people focus on the 1 instead of the 1,000,000.
Personally I wouldn't care if he had 3 mansions.
I know, I know, George Bush lives in a very energy efficient dwelling, but I'd be willing to bet from what I've read about her that was 100% Laura Bush's doing and Georgie boy had nothing to do with it.

EXTRA
Political Diary June 21, 2008 Smokestack Al Environmentalists are constantly telling us that major reductions in energy use and greenhouse gas emissions can be made fairly painlessly, so the case of one former Vice President is instructive.
Al Gore made headlines last year when the Tennessee Center for Policy Research disclosed just how much energy the "Inconvenient Truth" auteur consumes in his giant new palace in the Nashville suburbs. Mr. Gore responded at the time by assuring the public that he was purchasing "offsets" to make up for his energy-guzzling ways.
Well, this week the Tennessee Center's Drew Johnson checked in on Mr. Gore again. And despite an alleged program of greenification – including geothermal systems, solar panels and lots and lots of nifty compact fluorescent bulbs – Mr. Gore's electricity use from the grid was up 10% in 2007 compared to the year before. At this rate, he'll never hit his Kyoto targets. His Tennessee home currently eats up 17,768 kilowatt-hours of electricity every month – about 50% more electricity than the average household consumes in an entire year. That's one inconvenient carbon footprint.
How warm is it where you are? Not very, i suspect.
New figures from the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration show that ice levels have returned back to their original levels. In fact Antarctica has a third more ice than is usual for the time of year. Also, the northern hemisphere, experiencing its coldest winter in decades has had its greatest snow cover since 1966. Even the Middle East saw snow reporting the heaviest falls in years. I wonder what Al Gore has to say about this.

Maybe it's OwlGore's wife that's using all the elecricity. I bet he has a hand generator he uses to get online.
Hugz_n_Kissez: Good...when are the gas prices gonna fall with it??????????
Crude oil has to stay down for a few days at least before it's reflected at the pump. I can tell you that oil refiners are hurting right now because their profit margins are very thin due to the absurd price of oil and apparently there is lots of gasoline in storage. I know it doesn't make much sense looking at the price of gas but I've heard from pretty reliable sources there's a glut of gas on the market.

Surely since he was the sole inventor of the internet, he figured out a way to access it without using too much energy. He is such a mental giant and all.
Nah muppet, I haven't been in oil for years though I wish I did back up the truck about 2 years ago lol. The energy sector is a hot game and you can make a lot of money but your eyebrows can get singed also.
