Just finished 'Eye of the Needle',by Ken Follett. About a German spy operating in Britain during World War 2. He is trying to get information back to Germany that could change the course of the war,and MI5 are pulling out all the stops to prevent him......A tense thriller.
"The Crusoe Redemption"....story about a sailor that gets shipwrecked on a desert island populated only with sheep.....a brutal and poignant tale of his hardships and tribulations. Book ends on a happy note when Crusoe and his female sheep companion, Daisy, are rescued and retire happily to Cornwall.....

You have got to lend me this book... I like happy endings especially where sheep are involved...
Yes, the last one you lent me, "Leg over Madison County"...was really rivetting stuff.....thank you....you should have told me though, that your interests lie more with the male sheep fraternity....

gongman: If you are prepared to let go of reality........
Mind you,you are here.
I actually did not touch the book, my friend suggested even without facing the book when i asked her if she had something i could read. She bought it for me. I just wonder why?
Namuh: I'm just finishing "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini. It's a book about the author's life in Afghanistan as his past catches up with his new life in California. I don't want to ruin any plots, but suffice it to say that this book brings home the ugly reality of war and ethnic cleansing, the suffering war causes and brings you face to face with the Taliban...
But it's more than that ... It's how one single decision in life can have repercussions on many people... How past mistakes can haunt you and return ... but also about the redeeming quality of life - that gives you the opportunity to change.
I haven't finished it yet though. So it's a general impression...
I read the Kite Runner two years ago and it is a book that has stayed in my soul.
