Hi folks.Just returning from the beach I thought to share my thoughts with all of you.Cellphones in every day life make people more accessible but in my opinion more lonely too.It is pathetic to watch people in your surroundings to forcibly communicate with their chosen ones and totally ignore every one around them.Just here at the beach were about 20 different people on their towels and blankets.Amazingly about 15 of them were holding their phones in their hands, talking ,texting and only the good Lord knows what else. They all seemed soooo busy that needless to say no conversation between any of the 20 came up.It just makes me wonder where thistrend is leading to.Meanwhile I got people standing a foot away from my ear shouting and argueing with those little black gadgets.laugh

Quite annoing but I tell them if they shout in my ears again I will make them eat their phones.head banger
Now that gives me my desired privacy and distance to the reckless ones.

If you got anything to say to that matter let's hear it.

Am I the only one who gets annoyed by ruthless telephone abusers ?

I am with you on this one. I think it is sad as people seem to be totally into themselves.
People drive and send and receive text messages.
What are they sooo afreaid of missing out on?
Another thing; Some don't need a phone as they shout loud enough.
Yes I find it very anoying and I don't believe this will change soon'

I get upset when used while driving, very dangerous.
Also agree that it is sad ,say where you were at beach, people don't srike u conversation.Yet for some yars now, people don't welcome new neighbors, stay to themselves and their crowd or group. We need to communicate with all.We are not all the same understood.I know had I not started communicating with people of another race,at work and in condos,I nay still have stereotype my parents put in my head.I have found my parents must have missed out on meeting some good people.

Here is a small suggestion.Let's get rid of cell phones and get our boring answering machines back installed.I guarantee that people have to communicate then.hug

I would fully support you here.
I do not owe one myself as I have had no need for one.
Have told several people that I really was not interested
in their conversation as I was forced to listen to them.

In the bus one day; Oh two more stops and I am at your place.
I suppose so the other person could put the kettle on?

How did we ever live without this huh?

The only time I would support celphones is for emergencies.
It seems to me that people can not handle silence anymore.
They need to hear some kind of noice al the time.
Again; Sad!

The only thing that annoys me is someone driving and talking..

but you need to think of it as something everyone needs incase
of emergency..

UR child out biking and something happens he has a cell phone to contact police..guardian and so on...

I take my case my children need to get a hold of me also..

So i hope the cell keeps going on and on...

Let others live their life as they want...

I will live mine as i see it..

And that is with a cell phone...

At least i will know if my children need me for anythingwave

I would not get rid of my mobile phone now, although I rallied against
having one for a long time.
It's another safety thing for me when I am out like my car breakdown
cover, which luckily have only had to use once so far.
It's a good tool.

But I do agree with what you have said in your opening post,
they are used to excess and the annoyance of others.

Over here it's illegal to use one texting, reading or phoning while
driving.
Still I see many people with one hand holding a mobile to
their ear whilst driving!

I can see a cell phone being used in emergency situations but what is happening out there is plain ridiculous.

My first real exposure to the Cell Phone Revolution was at an airport a few years back. I hadn't flown since I was a kid, and it was quite an eye-opener, what with all the security and Vaseline and full cavity searches. But I digress...

Sitting in the terminal waiting for my plane, I was treated to rows of individuals in rapt conversations...with their cell phones. One guy seemed to be staring at me - nay, staring to the depths of my very soul, and rather accusingly, I thought - speaking as though we were long-lost friends...except I finally noticed the cord from a cell phone in his ear, and realized he was addressing someone in the mists far beyond this airport.

It was strange, hearing all these people speaking to ghosts, like an assemblage of street people conversing with their private demons, but since then I've gotten used to it. Now I feel free to talk to myself, knowing everyone will assume I'm on a cell phone. Rather liberating in a demented sort of way...blushing yay dunno wave

Did you know you can put a couple cell phone next to some popcorn and dial the phones and those kernals will pop. I have seen videos of it being done. They used 2 to 4 phones surrounding the popcorn, it's crazy. Imagine what that is doing to those peoples brain, Eeeeeek.
