Teacherman, I was one of those offended by what you wrote last night (though I didn't post) but I understand how emotional these occasions are for people and I think it is big of you to explain yourself like this.

For the record, I don't think anyone sided with any terrorists.

It takes a big person to acknowledge they got it wrong. I salute you.

Thanks...... handling things in an honorable way has also become very important to me! Last night the old anger got lit up like a rocket and i was off to the races!

Hi sweetie! wave pilpala and arlene... thanks for taking the time to read it.... In all these years I never really acknowledged it in this way... it felt good to put it all down in text and reaffirm some of the decisions I made afterwards.

I remember that day as well.... my sister was supposed to be working in tower one that day, fortunately she had a dentist appt. to go to. Thankfully she never made it. The planes had already hit by the time she made it down town. However, her friends, collegues, people she cared about died that day. It hit close to home, how close I had come to losing her forever. I didn't know that she wasn't at work until the next day when she was able to get through on her cell phone finally. We were so relieved. I don't think I have ever cried so much than I did right then. Now I call her everyday to tell her I love her. I tell everyone I know that I love them. My children and I always tell each other "Love you, never forget you!" before we leave each other for the day.

i was in l.a. at the time

the city on high alert
esp in the entertainment biz

there had been many shutdowns of productions over the last few years
all kept secret and all due to terrorist threats
disney is hated by extremist muslims and there have been 'events'

i left l.a. 3 wks later lock stock and barrel while the whole country was still waiting for the other show to drop-been rural ever since
have never regretted it

i am from nyc and lost some people but i am glad a non native got to see the people of that city come together
it is a great great city-and its the people that make a place innit?

thanks for sharing that jb

really

jbibiza: cont.As we walked back to the apartment I was struck by a thought... my brother, who had taken us out for dinner on the previous Friday night... should have been on the 104th floor of the World Trade Center that day.

He worked for a large Risk Management company and had offices in San Francisco, New York and London. His original business trip was to be London on Thursday and Friday, travel over the weekend and then New York Monday and Tuesday.... Tuesday being 9/11. Because my daughter and I were in New York he changed his schedule so he could take us out to dinner and was in New York on Thursday and Friday and had left for London on Saturday.... 47 people died in that office that morning.

It may sound strange... but I am really glad that I was in New York when the tragedy occurred. I was there to experience how people can and do come together in a positive way when something horrific happens... New York was magnificent in it´s ability to care, to reach out to perfect strangers, to comfort each other. The experience changed my life.

When I returned home to San Francisco I began to reflect on what was really important to me... I nearly lost my brother and thousands had lost their lives. It was then that I realized... we have no guarantee that we will see tomorrow... if there is something you want to do, the time to do it is now... say your I love you´s, your thank you´s and let the people in your life know how you feel... because you may not have that opportunity tomorrow.

9/11 gave me a gift... the gift of living each day and of appreciating each moment... knowing there might not be another one.In loving remembrance of all those effected by this tragic day.

That was a moving reminder jbibiza...Thank you...teddybear bouquet lips
