When I say “I am a Christian I’m not shouting “I’m clean living,” I am whispering, I was lost, and now I am found and forgiven.
When I say “I am a Christian I don’t speak with pride, I am confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.
When I say I am a Christian I am not trying to be strong. I’m professing that I am weak and need His strength to carry on.
When I say I am a Christian I am not bragging of success. I am admitting I have failed need the Lord to clean my mess.
When I say I am a Christian I am not claiming to be perfect, my flaws are far too visible but God believes I am worth it.
When I say I am a Christian I am not holier than thou I’m just a simple sinner who received God’s good grace somehow.

In your personal case hollandgirl, I am prepared to believe that you mean those things. Most so-called Christians don't believe any of them.

Not the ones I know my friend. I have many stories to tell about my experiences of how I became a Christian it took me five years of questioning.
I found in in a most unusual way but then I never enter by the front door.

A lot of people say to me; I do a lot of good for others. That is great it makes you a good person, not necesarry a Christian.
You could sit in chuch all day it makes you a church goer, not necesarry a Christian.
Nor would standing in the garage all day, turn you into a car.

I tend to agree with Fallingman...most "Christians" of my acquaintance are hypocrites...I was raised by a Catholic father and Methodist mother, have tried both...found my answers and peace as a Pagan. However, I have all of the respect in the world for those who espouse Christianity and truly live by the teachings of love that Christ taught...unfortunately, most instead live by judgment and a lack of tolerance for others who don't share their beliefs. That's speaking from my personal experience from when I was attending Christian churches. I have met exceptions, but that's what they are.

I absolutely agree with this. You see it in these forums every day. I am a non believer but I have great respect for those few people who live by Christian values. They are very few compared to the many who claim to be Christian and are actually full of hate.

Blessed are the peacemakers - not the Colt 45 but those who oppose war.

Number one only sinners go to church.
They are still people with all their faults etc.
I used to have a bumper sticker eons ago saying; Christians are NOT perfect, just saved.
Also they are Satan's most hated, I think he goes to bed on Saterday night early so he can be in church in the morning.

Yes churches have split up because the members could not agree on the colour of the new hymbooks.
I could say sooo much more but if you want to send me a private mail.
Have question I will try to answer you/whoever else, as best as I can.

I love this, where did you get it?! My church is more of a gossip city; to see who has a new car or who is wearing what or to criticize people's lives. Honestly I quit going because I can worship him whether I am in a building called a church, rather it is nothin but politics. Not saying I don't pass judgements because I do with everything and everyone whether good or bad.

With where you live, I totally understand. Your country is the homeland of my ancestors...at least some of them...and I agree. (Though I would still have the Colt .45, lol...protection, you know.) I also understand why you're a non-believer after seeing war for over 200 years over which Christian faith is right...Catholic vs. Protestant (and I know that's a simplification, but it is part of it).

I would love to see world peace...however, since that's not a reality because of human greed and ego, I own guns to protect my self and my home, and have served my country as a soldier.

If I had stayed in Holland I most likely would not have been a Christian today. Many churches have become coffee shops etc.

I believe you have the right to hold the people in your chruch accountable.
This is not judging.

Many Christians are praying for a revival and where ever in the world it would brake out, I will be there if I possible can make it.
It is amazing as it cleanses the church believe me.

Thank you Shelly but I am far from Sainthood.

In my stories I keep showing that God has a sense of humour.
God is Spirit.
Many people see Him sitting in a throne like chair, looking down here below and saying; I saw what you just did Jenny I will write it down.

You know when people have an accident like falling from a roof?
They tell that they saw their live passing them bu in a flash.
Our mind in a computer.
Everything you ever did, heard, saw whatever, is in your cwn computer.
On judgement day, that computer is rolled back.
Nobody writing anything down you yourself carry it.

Thats how I see it.. I don't believe in god.. and I think the most churches we have here in the UK are beautiful buildings.

But.. I would think that if you believe in god .. you certainly don't have to go to church.. Surely if you believe in god he is inside you whether you are in a church .. sitting in McDonald or flying to the moon.

Beautiful architectural buildings.. (here anyway).. But Church Schmurch I say.

Some beautiful churches here...the ones that have been here for ages...now everyone is building the "new and improved" so they can keep up with the rest...(Jone's?) lol.......

also I admire the fact that you have different beliefs as I do and you do not criticize that shows you are a good person

Do you think it's possible to be a Christian without believing in the divinity of Christ? (Anyone is welcome to respond.)confused dunno

hollandgirl: I have seen this too non Christians being kinder then the Christians.
I am sure your laughing, he that is healthy so go ahead, When your a Christian, Satan hates you and does all he can to make your life miserable and make you look bad to non Christians, it takes strenght to stand up against this.

Maybe that's why everyone says I am such a b*tch sometimes....which brings about another thought...there are "curse words" in the bible...and they are JUST words so why does everyone make a big deal to use them occassionally?
