sweetowen: I got a message from a guy in my mailbox today. There was no picture. He said he'd like to meet me & told me all his likes & dislikes... blah, blah, blah....
But what really surprised me was that he actually gave me his phone number! Is this pretty usual? I've never had anyone go that far before. I've had them leave me email addresses, but I just think that was way too forward. He doesn't even know me!
What do y'all think?
Get a picture.Have him spend a little time on the forums.See what he's like.
No, it is not unusual, but they are probably some kind of scammer would be my guess.......... I've gotten about 7-8 eight #'s myself, I just ignore them and delete the message..

Well, I've had a woman give me a number pretty quick...can't talk and learn about each other without a phone call right? No big deal....call from one of those pre-paid jobs, just in case. Only about 20 bucks or so. You can toss it if it gets crazy....

Scammer..that is what i say...
if they give you an email..with their yahoo..mail..number and so on..
is a scammer...
That is way to soon...
When i see that in my mail..block..delete real fast
Reading someones text online is sooo much different than in person, at least right off the bat. I am given phone numbers all the time but don't write them down, I get emails all the time from young to old giving me their email addresses, even if I were single I would be wary of the quickness of it all. But then again, some people are just like that, with no wariness. Your decision is what it ultimately adds up to.

If he didn't include a plane ticket (round trip naturally), I would forget it..
Sommerauer71: So, if a guy hands over his phone number in a bar and you like him???
I would call that guy in the bar.
I would offer my skype details to any guy who wanted to talk, that way there is nothing at risk, he can be blocked.
If we do not dip our toe in the water, then it is hard to get anywhere and we are all so wary of getting to know people...
It must be frightening for guys to talk to women, a nice guy around my age who is happy to call me????
I do not have a problem with that...
Yes but chances are you've at least had some sort of conversation with him first in the bar to be able to determine if you like him or not...sending a phone number on the first e-mail is just like walking up to a person you have never conversed with at all in the bar and handing them your phone number...then walking away....

Does that depend on how puffed up his account may be???
