Despite the grumble thats bigger than some of the Republicans I heard on the radio a few moments ago. When McCain made a gracious speech they were booing at the mention of Obamas name and were coming out with the usual whines about the media. One of them was even saying Obama will not protect this country, Obama is no friend of America. What sore losers! What a mean-spirited nasty bunch!

Yes, Conrad, tough times are ahead no matter who had won yesterday...but after a day or two to let it sink in he has to start making a difference. I don't think he is a very radical man but I do think he has good instincts for leadership and for what is right. I hope it works out for all parties.

Skybow: McCain showed class and a promoted spirit of unity. It's time to get on with the business of healing the divisions and the running this country.

he actually looked at ease and comfortable, wasn't tripping over his words or shaking. He even sounded intelligent, an aspect you didn't get from his debates on tv, where appeared very nervous and unsure of anything but attacking O'bama's policies ... it was a good speech if he follows through. head banger

I feel for the McCain supporters. He is an honorable and good man (one I wish had prevailed 8 years ago).

In the end, however, he had a two-ton albatross around his neck that is the current administration, and I am not sure picking the political equivalent of Britney Spears helped much.

Nor is calling Obama a wuss really going to help. Just my .02 tip hat

tip hat I know...but it's making me feel better and giving me an outlet for my feelings right now.

My other option would be horrible...to go out and drown it. I can't do that, I have to go to a job interview this afternoon. Showing up drunk would not be good.

Btw...I wouldn't be complaining as much if it wasn't for the fact that ever time I refresh the forums there's another Obamama gloating thread staring me in the face.

Don't tell me some others wouldn't be complaining just as much and as badly if it were the other way around, because then you would be wrong.

druidess6308: If the election had gone the other way, would you be telling those who spoke ill of McCain and his victory the same thing? And they would be doing it on public forums...you'd be amongst them, and probably one of the worst of them. I've seen your posts leading up to this election that's not even on your shores...so, back off.

That's just partisan rhetoric. I don't approve of insulting an opponent and I believe in grace in victory and dignity in defeat.

I'm glad you've seen my posts - if you actually read them you would see that I have a great deal of respect for John McCain though I didn't like his campaign. You are the one who says we are all entitled to our views, but your only way of handling that is to insult others.

Yet again the "foreigners have no right to contribute" school of American intolerance! scold This is an international forum! You are a foreigner here too! I will not back off.

I hope when you calm down you will read back on the things you said here and have the grace to be embarrassed.

thumbs down

It will never cross my mind or my lips that way. A freedom I have, I seem to recall.

How come the gloaters all have the right to gloat in my face this morning and I don't have the right to complain?

And no...I won't. Sorry...no regrets. I'm allowed to say what I'm thinking and feeling at this moment, and to react to having everyone celebrate and gloat. Too bad if you don't like it.
