If it's just a date, less than that is enough. That's how you find out if there's more in common. Unless it's long distance, then there needs to be more first. That's what emails and phone calls are for...basically, those become your "first dates".

Good luck.hug

I'm a big fan of opposites attract...so it wouldn't matter if we had anything in common or not, besides I think if you and the other person have so many things in common then it becomes boring after awhile. Nothing new is experienced after meeting/ or getting to know that person.

All I ever needed to know is if they're interesting enough to want to talk to. Meet in a public place and get to know them better, it's the only way to find out. Will and I met on myspace. He sent me a few emails one Saturday night, he was just funny as heck, he asked me out, I thought he was just kidding at first. We met at a restaurant the next day. We had our first "real" date that Friday. If I'd been too scared to take a chance on that first meeting, we might never have met. Life is about taking risks, if you're not willing to risk what you have, you'll never have anything more.

when we see or learn someone has a common interest or pasttime we also observe many other things about them too... would that common interest or hobby weigh heavier in your decision of yes or no.

It's obvious I'd want to meet him in person. dah

Then I'd probably want to get to show him alittle better first before i'd even consider a date with him.

Of course I'd want our first date to be in a public place.

Why do you even need that? Blind dates? Unless you're talking about something different. A date can LEAD to other things, but it also can just be about talking, enjoying each others company. Doesn't have to be a big romance.
