That is an ill-educated edictment of real bass players and guitarists.

While my tastes are primariulybwith Jazz and Big bands I also like to listen to Metallica and Yes , Bachman Turner Overdrive, Genesis, Queen, the Yardbirds, and Blood sweat & tears, BUT you have probably never heard any real bass players like NHOP playing with proper guitarists like JP -

The example I offer IS Jazz and only two expoonents of the art are playing, therefore, given that statement any reaction will be equally unsurprising but it will indicate to anyon who bothers to listen right through, positive proof that it is necessary to appreciate both sides of the art of being a musician before making such a narrow minded comment - as the audience reaction shows at the end -

NHOP = Niels Henning Orsted Pederson
JP = Joe Pass

If or when YOU are ever able to play the instrument to the standards of NHOP which is doubtful your ill bred comment MAY have validity.

mike.. chill, im a musician myself and live for music, i just like to take the piss out of bass players.. you know, the way guitarists take the piss outta drummers etc. yes, there is some bass players i like.. stu hamm for example would be one, cliff burton another, flea from the chili peppers is also gifted.. and yeah, your right.. I NEVER heard of either of them.. not because im so NARROW minded about bass players.. but simply cause i dont listen to the genre.
