What's on your mind - EU style (36)
Right now smoking a cigarette. I am trying to give up and have not smoked for 15 days...but it seems that the urge to smoke is getting stronger not weaker.
You are dealing with just the habit part, the behaviour.
Because unless you are using nicotine patches or the like, the nicotine would have left your system after three days.
Try to redirect that energy you would normally have used to smoke the usual cigarette, into something that is more positive and constructive for you to do.
Such as going for a walk
Drinking some water
Doing more work
Gardening
And so on. Generally, create an environment that reflects you as a nonsmoker. Eg no ashtrays around, washing curtains, drycleaning/washing your clothes. Fumigate your car...
All the best with it.

I`m very busy arguing with myself at the moment - I need to go out for a walk, but I dont want to! When I got up this morning the sun was bright (not warm) the snow is lying on the ground, its below freezing outside .... but Sundays are my day for a loooooong walk/jog to the Other forest way out past the farmlands ......... and my body just keeps finding excuses to not go out! ............
...... I`ve got a cold, I need to write some emails, I need another cup of coffee, I gotta do another load of laundry ..........another cup of coffee, phone a friend ......... Maybe its too cold to go working up a sweat?
So, now I`m compromising .... taking a stroll to the other side of the village to go have coffee with a friend ... who wont leave her apartment!

Hi smoky, Here i am sitting with light summer clothing. The idea of it being so cold to want to venture outside, well, I couldn't imagine it right now.
But I guess once you are out, all snuggled up with warm coats, scarves and woolly hats, it will be bearable. The prize will be once you reach your friend's home. Enjoy your day. Is the snow soft underfoot. I have seen snow, but where live, it never snows.

On my mind is that it's too damn cold.....and also, this EU fascination of yours....there was a very nice lady here before who worked in Brussels for the EU...she would have helped you all you needed...but alas she's gone now.
