My mother is African and so talk of spirits was commonplace in my household growing up. It was always assumed that spirits are a natural part of our existence and so I grew up never questioning it. I have also seen some pretty strange things occur which might be scientifically explained, but then again maybe not.
But regardless of my mom's weird 'hocus pocus', in physics, the law of conservation of energy says that energy can not be destroyed, only change forms. I think this implies that our inner energy does not go away when our body dies...
So....yes, I believe.
I agree with you. It's impossible for the spirit to die.

Exactly...the spirit is the energy which gives this body life...and energy can not be destroyed.
dcj22: I understand that. Personally, I believe that spirits usually wait years to reincarnate.
I believe that most do, but there are documented cases of spirits that have come right back in. Usually in early childhood we can still remember our previous life...hence phobias that one can remember always having are usually connected with how one died the last time, or in a previous life.
It's now believed that we do carry memory "cells" with us into each life of all of our past lives, and some manifest in this manner.
Yes, back in 2001 I was living in Oregon and I had a good friend here in Colorado who was a mountain climber. It was February right around my birthday and he had taken a relatively easy climb up a nearby mountain. He fell off the mountain and died. Before my other friends got in touch with me to let me know I was down in my basement, it was a Sunday afternoon and I swear for a spit second that a shadow or something passed through. I think it was Glen saying goodbye as I learned about his death the next day. He was like a little brother to me.

My Papa (maternal grandfather) did that. My dad and I were walking up the back staircase to my room and the door below us opened and closed, a very cold breeze passed by us, and the door between my room and my sister's room opened and closed. We both saw and felt that, and I even said, "Bye, Papa." It was 1 am when my uncle finally called to tell my parents...and I heard the phone ring on the first one through 3 closed doors, and at the opposite end of a long hallway. The time that we felt that was roughly the time they determined was his time of death. Nobody found him for hours...he had lain down for an afternoon nap and never woke up.
OK this is a bit sad right - I had been in intensive care with my daughter for almost 2 weeks - 5am on day 14 (I had a room in the hosp) they woke us up saying this was it, she was on the last moments so we (her sister and I) sat with her almost lifeless body for the next 12 or so hours and I just had to go to the loo - whilst i was there I really needed a ciggy too (illegally) and as I sat on the loo I really felt my daughter, she came into me like nothing else ever has, she said "mum, this is it, Im going now, please take care of things for me"...... a few minuites later the machines went into high pitched monotone and she was gone - she did come and speak to me in those few seconds I had to myself though - it was pretty magical really..........

It was really funny Drue because I usually question everything and this was a milisecond thing a blink of an eye. Can't say that I saw a form just more like you said a brush of something going by.

She was 29 sweetie and it was 5 yrs ago - I never thought I would live myself to tell the tale, the pain of that time is indescribable - but in those final few moments she came to me in our own personal way, just like she had been waiting for me to get on my own before she left - it was a bit like a reversal of the pains of birth, she was leaving but I was totally aware of her spirit and she was of mine - as we had always been...........
i believe that spirits exist... they have to right? or else every major religion is wrong i know that in feudal japan and china the familys would worship the ancestors until the decendants had died out (which is a lot of people to be worshiping btw) but they were dedicated to it. also as far as reincarnation, that idea comes from buddhism and the way it works (apparently, according to the tibetian book of the dead) is that if as a soul your good deeds on earth out weigh your bad ones you are given the opportunity to be reborn as a human (opposed to a bird or insect etc...) then the soul is taken into a room filled with coupples "doin it" and then the soul gets to literly pick his/her parents ya its crazy i know, and a lot more indepth than that but thats the basic idea so next time your doin it... someone could be watching lol
