Why Do Teenagers Find it Necessary to be on a Dating Site (16)

I notice 18, 19 and those in their early 20,s. Thought they would be so involved in things where you meet so many people you can choose who you want to hang out with.

could be that things are different now then they were many years ago. They don't HAVE to be on a dating site...they choose to be!
it's a different world today. They do things differently.
With college, and work it is sometimes hard to find time for serious dating.
If you think about it...the way we dated was different than our parents, too

Well kitty, i have no clue as to why teenagers would go to a dating site, theyre still so young and have everyday social opportunities. kitty i so agree with you and i have no answere to this question lol.

I enjoy just meeting many people and seeing if maybe there is someone who is exactly like me. I go to a pretty big school and do partake in "social gatherings" on the weekends. A lot of the time though its mostly to celebrate rather than meet people with a demanding school load. There are tons of people on campus, yet everyone kinda of gets mushed into a whole and becomes difficult to meet people outside your major or your regular social scene. There is only so much time and multi tasking one can do. I hope I entertained your question to the extent in which it was asked.

Ok seriously. teenagers go through alot of difficulties in relationships just as an....older person "no offense" alot of them find it hard to meet new people out of their social groups, or they had a bad experience with a person within their social group and teenagers are just looking for another way to find a person.

In reality how many of us actiually find someone on a dating site. Most live too far away, so the only socialization we have is on line. I am in the house mostly so I find this is the only way I do get to meet people.

ok i cant speak for every teenager or young adult in there early 20's..but im a single mom which doesnt leave a lot of time for me to constantly date around to find Mr. Right..so i just chat here and there..talking to a few cool people.

It's a different time in total, as young people grow up with computers and internet. And there are less places also where people can meet:
Bars etc are getting less and lesser, coz too expensive, to dangerious (One beer too many and you're already a criminal), and going home alone at night is getting more and more unsafe!
Disco's are even more unsafe, especially for young girls (just read the news) and I don't blame them if they don't go there anymore.
