Yes, I know CPR...for children, infants, and animals, too. I had to take it for nursing school. It's been a while since my training, but if I had to use it, I have no doubt that I'd be able to do it.
It sure sounds like you saved a life...and you gave some very good advice there, too, Cat.
Yes, I know CPR. Teach it in fact along with advanced courses.
Not everyone wants to learn CPR but why? I have no idea. It is a very easy thing to do. The effort to learn is the biggest hurdle. The classes offer great information and the practice allows for the actual skill it takes for effective and proper CPR. It also builds your confidence in handling something during a crisis. This in effect can build confidence in other crisis type situations.
It's a wonderful way to spend a few hours to save a life. What a way to show concern for your family, friends and neighbors.
You are correct in what you say though. My neighborhood is ALL "old farts". We call an ambulance the Sun City Taxi. I get the pleasure of being close for my mom & 70 something neighbor lady..
CPR is incredibly important. I can't stress it enough. The average person waits 12 minutes for an ambulance to arrive at their home. That is sure death for someone in cardiac arrest.
The cost for CPR is nominal. It is also important to re certify so that the information is top of mind when an event occurs.
