He doesn't drink large quantities, it's more like a 6 or 8 a night.

No one can help him. The issue is in his hands completely. I am sorry you have to endure this. Two of my exes were the exact same way and chose to remain with the alcohol rather than their family. Hence they are exes.

Smartest thing you can do is to:
Look in the phonebook for an alanon meeting.

Check out Alanon..it is for people who have a loved one who are alcoholics.
It is ultimately up to him to determine his sobriety. Alanon can help you a great deal understanding many questions you may have.

Until he admits he has a "problem" he will have a problem. AlaNon is great group for ones dealing with close ones who have a drinking problem. I have a good friend who attends their meetings.

I know I used to fill the box of the truck with cases of empties and they would just exchange them for more. It became an issue of consequence when I would come home from work to parties and hungry children. The door was the only option then. Aiding and abbetting is tantamount to the crime itself. Blindly allowing it is the same in my eyes. I could no longer sit and watch someone ruin their life.
